Wickham Market Hedgehog Help I volunteer locally for hedgehogs, give care, urgent first aid, overwinter autumn juveniles & am a 'hogulance' to rescues & vets. I am a 'hedgehog rehabber'.

Thanks to Camilla who realised there was something amiss with this very scrawny male hedgehog in Parkway. Just given him warm sub-cut fluids, he's on a heat pad safe in his igloo now. Will check on him later. He has a bad chest, lungworm suspected, maybe ringworm/mange as well, so is off to Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue tomorrow, but he is a poorly boy x

Hoping everyone's had a great bank holiday weekend and that you remembered to check for hedgehogs when doing g gardening. Please contact a rescue, Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue if you find an injured hedgehog or a hedgehog out in the day moving slowly or not at all x

Here is an updated list of our local hedgehog help. I would always try Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue first. PLEASE do not keep them yourself, even overnight means the difference between life & death. Most need urgent fluids & be warmed up before food is given or they'll use the last of their energy trying to eat, then die unless specialist fluids are given. Best hoggy vets are Woodbridge Vets, Riduna Park, Melton, on 01394 802803, or Ryder Davies, Rendlesham (another Sue!), 01394 420964, or their main practice on Grundisburgh Rd, Woodbridge, 01394 380083.

Here we are, please use these numbers if you fins a hedgehog this weekend thst is out in the day looking as though its sunbathing. Please contain in a high sided box, pop a towel or fleece over its body to calm it don't feed, just water please then call any of these people! Thank you x
