Grief does not stay politely outside your business.
It comes into your inbox.
Your client calls.
Your energy.
Your decision-making.
Your capacity.
Yesterday would have been my 20th wedding anniversary.
My husband died in 2012.
And even now, grief still changes how I lead myself sometimes.
Not loudly.
Quietly.
Through needing more space.
Through staying busy.
Through planning ahead, because I already know certain dates carry weight.
I think a lot of women have been taught to override themselves in the name of professionalism.
To keep going.
Keep producing.
Keep showing up.
Even when their nervous system is asking for care.
But functioning while disconnected from yourself is not a strength.
Your body already knows what matters.
So yesterday, I moved things around.
I gave myself space.
I stayed away from client calls.
I let myself feel what needed to be felt.
That is not a weakness.
That is self-leadership.
You do not have to abandon yourself to keep your business running.
Follow for more straight talking.
