SPHERES OF CONTROL
This is a key foundation when it comes to trying to create good mental health once you understand how this can work for every aspect of your life the you will start to shift your focus onto the things that matter most to you and your life regardless if it is fitness, relasionships, work and other aspects. Lets look at these in more detail.
TOTAL CONTROL
now this is where you should focus most if not all of your mental energy into. This is where you have the ability to control every element of. This could be the way you talk to people, The job you want, The goals aquire in fitness even down to the food you put into your mouth on a daily basis. If you are unhappy with any element that falls within this then you have the abaility to completely change it to make you happier and in turn better mental health.
SOME CONTROL
This is where you may have control of an element of a situation for example if you have a disagreement with someone then you have the ability to walk away. This is where compromises usually sit within relationships also, discussing elements can lead to less mental energy being used and therefore better mental health. Routines - You have the ability to complete your daily routine in any order you like but you may not be able to control the total list of the routine or jobs that you need to do. Also who DOESN'T love ticking off a list? I Know I do!
NO CONTROL
No in past conversations I have had with many people I have noticed many people using too much mental energy trying to resolve issues in this catagory. For example too many people try to resolve issues regarding how or even if other people are looking at them in the gym. Regardless if you are new to a gym or not everyone is at a different stage in their lives, and trust me no-one is really looking at you in the gym!
Spend more mental energy on things you can control and you will be much happier with life and come across as so laid back
