Most patients should be seen at least once a year to maintain good oral health.**

Important notice:
Over the past 18 months we have almost cleared the backlog of outstanding treatment. We have had lots of phone calls daily for requests to join the practice. Our capacity is still limited, however we have decided from today we welcome any Children 6 or under to join the practice for check ups. Due to being in a high need area we are focusing on this age group first.

**To all our patients.**
For the next couple of weeks we have dental students from the University of Liverpool working at the practice on a Wednesday and Thursday evening. We would like to invite any of our patients who would like treatment - simple fillings, scale and polishes ( free of charge if you pay for your treatment!). It will be a great help to us and great experience for the students. Please message the page if you're interested or call us 677 6176.

It's a sad day today at Woodchurch Dental Practice. Our amazing manager Sue is off to pastures new.
Sue has worked at Woodchurch for 20 years. She has welcomed and looked after our patient's over all this time and over the years has been the main driver in the friendly, easy going but professional practice we strive to be.
All of the staff at Woodchurch want to say a massive thank you for all your support and kindness you've shown to us over the years and although we know it won't be the same without you, we'll carry on with your ethos knowing you are still around the corner to tell us off 😉.

To all our patients:

On the 28th May the Chief Dental Officer for NHS England announced Dental Practices could see patients from the 8th June.
However, our priority at this time is to look after our staff and patient’s general health and well-being at all times. Initially we will be prioritising those patients with urgent and emergency dental needs. If you currently have an appointment booked with us, there may be a chance it is cancelled or delayed whilst we care for our emergency patients.
We have been in the process of securing the relevant PPE. However, it is currently in high demand and short supply. This is likely to affect our definitive reopening date.
We will not compromise our level of care despite increased demand and we will be adhering to revised practice guidelines. This means your visit to the Practice will be slightly different but is for everyone’s safety.
Please call us If you have any questions or concerns, and we will update you as much as we can and look forward to seeing you soon.

A polite update - unfortunately due to NHS guidance we are still unable to treat patients in the practice. Please call the practice if you need any help or advice. If there is no answer please leave a message on the answerphone and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Any appointments booked are canceled and we will get in touch with you to rearrange when we have more updates.

Dental check-ups and treatments involve close contact between the dentist and patient and so should not take place. To all our patients we hope you are keeping well. Due to national guidelines, we are still unable to see any patients in the practice until further notice. We are taking phone calls Mon-Fri 10am-1pm. We have provided some advice to use at home (please see photos)
If you have severe facial swelling affecting your speech, swallowing, breathing or eyesight and cannot contact us, please go straight to A&E.

We will be adhering to government guidelines and keeping our dental practice open as usual to take care of our patients.

Your dental appointments are not social affairs- they are crucial to maintaining the health of your teeth, gums and mouth as well as spotting signs of some other health problems.

Because we see patients on an appointment- only basis, we have tight control over who is in the building at any given time. We are screening patients before their appointments.

The only reasons you should not attend your appointments are:

❌ You have a new, continuous cough
❌ You have a temperature of 37.8’ or higher
❌ You have been instructed to self- Isolate
__________________________________

We always follow strict cleaning policies using hospital-grade disinfectants across the entire practice with extensive room cleaning after every patient. All dental instruments receive the highest level of sterilisation available.
