Small moments.
Things we don’t say.
Feelings we push aside and carry on from.

Over time, they can begin to shape how we feel - often without us fully realising.

It’s something I’ve been reflecting on more and more.

Does this resonate with anyone?

Do you ever feel weighed down… but can’t quite explain why?

Not because of one big moment.
But because of many small ones.
Saying “yes” when you mean “no.”
Not speaking up.
Letting something go… when it didn’t feel okay.
Each moment seems small.
But over time, they build.

This is what The Penny Model – Revised helps to make sense of.
Each “penny” represents a moment we disconnect from ourselves — and those pennies quietly shape how we feel, how we relate, and how we cope.

One of the first readers shared:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Clear, actionable and relatable… useful for therapists and anyone wanting to support themselves.”

A simple model.
A powerful shift.
One penny at a time.

The Penny Model - Revised is now available on Amazon.

This has been something I’ve been developing for a long time - a way of understanding the quiet weight of everyday emotional experiences.

Each “penny” represents a small moment where we disconnect from ourselves.

These moments often pass quickly, but they don’t always leave. Over time, they can accumulate.

It’s been really encouraging to read the first feedback:

“Clear, actionable and relatable… useful for therapists and for anyone wanting to better understand themselves.”

Thank you for your support — it means a lot.

We’ve just approved the proof copy of The Penny Model (Revised)—and it will be going live in a few days.

This book was created to help people understand something many of us were never taught: how our emotions actually work.

I’ve seen first-hand how powerful this understanding can be—in individuals, families, and professional settings.

We’re really excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share it.

More to come over the next few days.

Why does grief sometimes feel as though it becomes “stuck”?

In The Penny Model, we explore how emotional experiences that remain unfinished can accumulate over time. These emotional “pennies” can influence how we experience grief, distress, and sometimes even crisis.

Over the coming weeks I’ll be exploring two important emotional themes through this framework.

This weekend

Grief Work – Through the Lens of The Penny Model
📅 14 March
⏰ 10:00–12:00 GMT

A reflective exploration of grief, emotional integration, and the forces that can sometimes keep loss feeling stuck.

Upcoming

Su***de & Self-Harm – Through the Lens of The Penny Model
📅 18 April
⏰ 10:00–11:30 GMT

Exploring how emotional “pennies,” misalignment, and internal pressure can contribute to suicidal thinking and self-harm.

Both sessions are live online and CPD certificates are available for attendees.

Grief doesn’t always move.

Sometimes it lingers.
Sometimes it hardens.
Sometimes it quietly shapes how we live.

On March 14 (10am–12pm GMT) I’ll be delivering a live online workshop:

Grief Work – Through The Lens Of The Penny Model (£25)

We’ll explore the emotional “glue” that can keep grief stuck — and practical, embodied ways to gently support movement and integration.

I’ll also be delivering:

Addiction Through the Lens of The Penny Model
Feb 28 | 10:30am–12pm GMT (£20)

Looking at addiction as an emotional pattern — not a moral failing.

If this speaks to you, booking is available via Eventbrite.

I hope to see you there.

Have you ever wondered whether addiction is not the problem itself, but a sign of carrying too much for too long?

Addiction Through the Lens of The Penny Model offers a different way of understanding addiction — not as pathology or weakness, but as a coping
strategy rooted in emotional weight, misalignment, and unmet needs.

🗓️ Saturday 28 February 2026
⏰ 10:30 (UK time)
In this webinar, we’ll explore:
• where addiction develops from
• what it is trying to manage or protect
• and how change becomes possible when emotional balance is restored
