Rangoli Patterns at the Woods πΏπ¨
To continue celebrating Diwali and our love for patterns, we made our very own Rangoli designs β this time using natureβs treasures around us ππͺ
At the woods, we gathered leaves of all shapes, sizes, and colours β one of the little ones even pointed out that some were bigger than our heads! π± Together, we used the leaves to create beautiful patterns and designs, inspired by traditional Rangoli art.
Our imaginations ran wild β one child even made some βmonstersβ and a βcampfireβ, showing how creativity can take so many wonderful forms π₯π
It was such a peaceful morning, listening to the birds sing as we worked, and remembering to leave the woods just as we found them ππ
Later in the week, we extended our learning by making Rangoli patterns with chalk, exploring how different materials can help us express ourselves.
Using a mix of natural and creative resources helped to strengthen our sensory development, language, and artistic expression β¨
Skills we developed:
πΏ Expressive Arts & Design β creating with natural materials and chalk
πͺ Understanding the World β learning about Diwali and cultural traditions
π£οΈ Communication & Language β describing colours, shapes, and textures
π€² Physical Development β collecting, placing, and drawing with care
π Personal, Social & Emotional Development β teamwork, imagination, and pride
A truly magical way to blend nature, culture, and creativity ππ«
