Local Creative Wanted – Window & Door Artwork for Haven Physio 🌿

We’re looking for a talented local artist or designer to create some beautiful decals/artwork for our new clinic windows and door at Haven Physiotherapy.

We’d love something that reflects our brand.

If you (or someone you know!) creates window art, vinyl decals, or bespoke designs, we’d love to chat.

Please comment below or send us a message with examples of your work.

Let’s support local creativity 🤍

Desk job ➝ starting to run? Read this first. 🏃‍♂️💻
This is Tom.
He’s recently started running… and like many people, he also sits at a desk for ~10 hours a day.

Before adding miles, he's added movement to his week.
These are the simple exercises he’s doing to:

• undo long periods of sitting
• prepare his body for running
• reduce injury risk as training increases

👉 Swipe through to see the sequence.

Why this matters (and a bit of science):
A large study by Ekelund et al. (2016) followed over 1 million people and found that sitting itself isn’t the main problem — it’s sitting without enough movement.
Regular activity can significantly offset the health risks of long sedentary days.
In short:
🪑 Sitting isn’t “evil”…
🚶‍♀️ But it needs to be balanced with movement.

For runners, that movement should include:

• hip mobility
• glute strength
• calf and quad loading

All of these help your body cope with the impact of running — rather than reacting to it with pain.

If you’re desk-based and thinking of running:
✔️ Move daily
✔️ Strength train alongside running
✔️ Don’t wait for pain to start rehab

Save this post ⭐

Share it with your desk-bound running buddy
And if you’re unsure where to start, ask for advice!

Smart shoes. Train smarter.

Gait analysis with Jo Love Running this week 👟

Jo checked my current shoes, asked about injuries or niggles, watched me walk barefoot, then video-analysed my run in different shoes to guide the best fit.

For walkers, runners, arthritis, trails or pavements — the right shoe can improve comfort and reduce joint stress.

Shoes aren’t the whole answer, but part of a bigger picture!

Strength, mobility and gradual load are key 🗝️

I left with Saucony ,which suited me best on the day

A big thank you to Jo and Simon for their shoe knowledge and a thorough and thoughtful process.
