We understand that recent infant formula recalls may be causing worry for parents and carers. Our information page explains which products are affected and what you should do.

Batches from brands including Aptamil, Cow & Gate and SMA have been recalled. If you have formula at home, check the batch code as affected products may still be in your cupboard.

If you have an affected batch:

- Stop using it
- Return it to the store for a replacement
- You can switch to another batch or brand
- If formula was prescribed, speak to a pharmacist or doctor first

⚠️New product recalls: Aptamil and Cow & Gate first infant milk and follow-on milk.

Danone is recalling several Aptamil and Cow & Gate infant formula and follow-on milk products because cereulide toxin may be present in some batches.

Cereulide can cause rapid onset of nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps. It's unlikely to be destroyed by boiling water or cooking.
Even if your baby seems well, it is essential to stop using affected products. If the formula was prescribed by a health professional, consult a pharmacist or other medical professional before changing formula.

As another batch of formula is being recalled, you may find your normal formula is not as available as usual. Or you may want to switch for another reason.

You can switch between formula brands if you are struggling to get hold of your usual formula or you want to for another reason. The idea that once your baby is settled on one brand, you must stick with it, is not actually evidenced based.

All first stage formulas are nutritionally complete. They have to be by law. More expensive formula is not better for your baby than cheaper formula.

For details of the recall and for unbiased information on infant formula, check out 's social media and website.
