🌟 International Housekeeping Appreciation Week at St Stephens 🌟
We recently celebrated our amazing housekeeping team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our home fresh, clean, and welcoming for all our residents. 🧼💐

Our residents got creative, choosing words that truly reflect the personalities of our team, friendly, helpful, funny, and smiley and turned them into beautiful personalised keyrings as heartfelt gifts. 🥰🔑

To top it off, we crafted a large lavender-scented heart pillow to keep in the laundry room, adding a touch of calm and a lovely aroma to their workspace. 💜🧺

We recently hosted an all-day Coffee & Cake Tea Party in support of and what a wonderful day it was! ☕🍰💚

We combined the event with our regular Knit and Natter group, bringing together residents, staff, and members of the local community for a day full of laughter, creativity, and connection.

Guests enjoyed socialising, playing games, and getting creative with knitting and crocheting, all while indulging in delicious homemade cakes, lovingly prepared by our talented staff. 🧁🧶🎉

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, joined in, and made the day so special. Your support means the world! 💚

🌸 Pressed Flower Craft Fun! 🌿✨

We’ve been busy getting creative with pressed flower crafts! Using beautiful flowers and leaves collected from our garden, we carefully pressed them and turned them into lovely keyrings, bookmarks, and decorative pieces.

These handmade treasures were a hit at the St Stephen’s Church Fete last weekend, where we proudly sold our creations. A wonderful way to share a bit of nature and creativity with the community!

A huge thank you to Animal Mania - Mobile Zoo for an unforgettable animal handling experience! 🐍🐢

Our residents and staff had a fantastic time cuddling a soft and fluffy chinchilla, handling snakes, meeting a bearded dragon, African frog, and a friendly tortoise. Smiles and laughter all around! 🦎🐸

🎨 Getting Creative for the Fete! 🌻

We’ve been busy working on our arts and crafts for the St Stephen’s Church Fete on Saturday 20th September!

We'll be running a stall showcasing the wonderful garden and craft activities we enjoy here at St Stephen’s. Come and see us this Saturday, from 11:00 to 15:00.

Our residents have been hard at work creating beautifully scented lavender bags, potpourri, sunflower-themed cards and artwork, and so much more. 🌸✂️🖼️

We’ve recently been harvesting the fruits of our hard work in the garden this year 🌱🍅🌻

Fresh beans, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomatoes have all been enjoyed straight from garden to plate! Our magnificent sunflowers are in full bloom and look absolutely glorious 🌻✨

We’ve also been taking in the delicate scent of sweet peas, along with the calming aromas of lavender, rosemary, and lemon balm 🌸🌿. It’s been a wonderful way to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the season.

Our first Knit and Natter in the newly refurbished Blossom Room was a huge success! It was wonderful to welcome two lovely ladies from the community to join us and we hope they’ll be the first of many. ☺️

Our next Knit and Natter will take place on Monday, 15th September, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Everyone is welcome!

We will also be hosting a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning on the same day, from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

We hope to see you there for a great day of chatting, knitting, and supporting a fantastic cause!
