Thank you to everyone who came and saw us this morning for their flu vaccinations and Covid boosters!

We administered 825 flu vaccines and 342 Covid boosters 💉🦠 As always, there was a lovely atmosphere and we hope you found the process quick and easy (despite the confusion that we weren’t using the back door as an entrance….. with storm Amy we didn’t want you all outside in the wind and rain).

Huge thank you to our wonderful team for once again giving up their Saturday mornings to help us with the clinic and protect our patients 💚

Don’t worry if you couldn’t attend today, we have clinics with our fabulous nursing team throughout the rest of winter and can always fit you in if needed.

As a reminder…..

You’re eligible for the flu vaccine if you are/have:
- Age 65 or over (including those turning 65 by 31 March 2026)
- Adults (18–64) with certain long-term health conditions, such as Chronic respiratory disease (asthma, COPD and on certain medications), Heart disease, Kidney or liver disease, Neurological conditions (e.g. MS, cerebral palsy), Diabetes, Immunosuppression, Spleen problems / asplenia
- Pregnant women (any stage of pregnancy).
- Children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025 and children aged 6 months–17 years with long-term health conditions
- People living in a care home or long-stay care facility.
- Carers
- Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals.
- Frontline health and social care workers

You are eligible for the Covid booster if you are/have:
- Aged 75 or over (this is a change from previous years where the age criteria was 65)
- People living in a care home or long-stay care facility
- Patients who are immunosuppressed. Immunosuppression means having a weakened immune system due to a medical condition (like blood cancer, HIV, or immune deficiencies) or treatments (such as chemotherapy, organ transplant medicines, or strong immunosuppressive drugs).

If you’re not sure if you’re eligible, please call reception and they can check for you, or you can use our online “admin” function: https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/m81011/recipient

💜 Yesterday was World Alzheimer’s Day

⚠️ Early signs to look out for:
• Memory loss that affects daily life
• Difficulty following conversations or planning
• Confusion with time or place
• Changes in mood or behaviour
💙 If you or a loved one are experiencing symptoms, speak to your GP — early support makes a difference.
Together, we can raise awareness and support those living with dementia.
