I'm reading and listening to so many things about neurodiversity. The more I understand my diagnosis the more I develop my perspective and three things I would like to share are:

1) I don't feel like my Neurodivergence is a "superpower". It can be amazing at times but also it is very challenging. My brain works differently to many people and navigating a world that is not designed for my brain has been severely damaging at times. Stop telling me this is a "superpower" please.

2) There is no fad... the increase in diagnosis is due to increased awareness. Do not diminish someone's diagnosis. For many of us it is hugely validating and saves lives. Maybe instead, think about how so many people have been let down for so long and how many lives could have been saved if people understood the signs of neurodivergence and how to support us...

3) There is nothing "wrong", we are not "broken", our brains work differently to "the norm". Everyone thinks differently, we are a neuro-diverse society... people need to understand and support this.

Trauma. Psychological trauma.

This topic fascinates me, its created a fireball of passion in me.

Last year involved a lot of trauma healing for me. Peeling back layer after layer. Revealing and healing things that were causing me mental and physical discomfort.

I have also spent a lot of time and money educating myself about trauma and how it affects us.

I want to help others to understand their mind and bodies better so that they are no longer prisoner to their past. I want people to feel safe.

I am bringing HeartHealing™; a science backed therapeutic modality, to Worcestershire this April.

I will be doing an in person workshop on Sunday, 28th April. I aim to educate and equip people with the steps they need to launch their healing journey.

To book one of the limited spaces, follow the link in the comments.

This will be a safe, nurturing, intimate environment for people who genuinely want to make lasting, positive change in their lives.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

For some, today may not be filled with happiness...

Some may...

🧡 no longer have their mother with them

🧡 have a mother who is physically present but sadly not cognitively present

🧡 no longer have a connection with their mother, as a means of protection

🧡 not be mothers (by choice or not)

🧡 be grieving mothers

But also, many women may be mothers and not realise it...

🧡 a mother in spirit

🧡 a mentor

🧡 a supportive aunt or godparent

🧡 a supportive friend

🧡 a teacher nurturing her students

🧡 a foster parent or adoption

Mother wounds are emotional scars or traumas resulting from unmet needs, neglect, abuse, or dysfunctional relationships with one's mother or maternal figure.

Mother wounds can show up as...

❤️ Lack of self-esteem

❤️ Difficulty to give or receive unconditional love

❤️ Self-sabotage

❤️ Lack of healthy boundaries

❤️ Trust issues

I am grateful today for 2 things:
1. That I get to spend the day with my son
2. That I got to heal my own mother wound through HeartHealingTM

Sending so much love, peace, and joy today! 🧡

There's only so much trauma one person can take!

Healing trauma doesn't have to be hard and painful!

Childhood trauma.

This can look like:

💔 Being shut out in the dark by a sibling for 20 minutes

💔 Being told you are not good enough and threatened with being put into (social) care

💔 Being bullied at school

💔 Feeling like the scapegoat amongst your siblings

💔 Not getting praise or recognition for being yourself or doing your best

💔 A bereavement of a loved one

💔 Sexual, physical, psychological, emotional abuse or neglect

There are so many examples, too many to list here.

Now, one example may seem almost insignificant to one individual, whereas to another, it can be devastating.

It is so important to validate your experiences. Talk about them, process them, and heal them.

You may not be consciously aware of these childhood traumas, but they may be affecting you regularly in less obvious ways.

Let's take example 3... bullying... can make you feel unworthy and unloveable, you lose trust in yourself, you struggle to accept yourself... this leads to difficulties setting boundaries in relationships... maybe you struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle or you overcompansate somewhere... maybe you don't put yourself out there for the things you want...

There's always a root cause.

It's usually a relationship.

A relationship that caused a wound.

Maybe you've tried patching that wound, but it's just not healed.

Maybe it's hidden in your subconscious.

If you are looking to heal your hidden trauma and you’ve tried traditional methods, I have a solution for you

Trauma is the strong emotional challenge we have in response to a highly distressing experience.

Approximately 50-70% of people (depending on demographics, etc) will have experienced trauma in their lives.

What is traumatic for one individual may not be traumatic for another. Therefore, trauma is subjective.

Your experiences are valid. Do not compare yourself to others . We each have our own story.

Here is more about Kirsty and her work:

✨ Kirsty says: I chose to complete the HeartHealing™ Mastery Certification because it is truly holistic, beautifully bringing science and spirituality together, it was just what I was looking for!

✨ One of the things I love most about HeartHealing ™ is the personal and spiritual growth that has enabled me to become a better parent, and heal my own mother daughter relationship.

✨ I have seen clients learn to set healthy boundaries with their mothers, and take back loving control after just one HeartHealing session! And one of my clients who had a pattern of recurring cycles of abusive or toxic relationships, is finally breaking that cycle and working on a healthy relationship with her partner.

✨ I just love the A-HA moments in a HeartHealing ™ session where the energy shifts and you can see the client retrieving her power!

Their voice matters!

I struggled so much as a child. I didn't have anyone to talk to about my feelings or what was going on for me. I was bullied through school and didn't have family around. I was emotionally neglected and never felt good enough.

I'm so conscious now as a parent of making sure my son is heard. Making sure he knows he is safe and share anything with us. We have zero tolerance of bullying and encouraged kindness and compassion.

In my nursing career I experienced caring for children who were experiencing bullying, abusive home life and mental health problems. It was heart breaking but I was so honoured to be able to listen to them and support them where I could.

In a world that is chaotic and overwhelming, take some time this week to raise awareness with your children open, safe communication, signs someone may be struggling and how to get help.

With su***de rates increasing and CAMHS services overrun we can all do our bit to role model and support healthy practices.
