💬 Another fabulous message this time from Sarah:

Just wanted to thank you for the words you said in the last Bliss session before Christmas - Enjoy your Christmas but know when to stop - or words to that effect, as they led me to the wonderful news today - that I am no longer classed as prediabetic! Since that session, I have had the willpower and mindset to really take control of what I eat. I have lost just under 2 stone and no longer crave sweet things. There is still a long way to go as I know I could easily slip back to my old/ convenient ways but I have finally got the results to see that the hard work has paid off and that I can maintain a healthy eating way of life, especially as I feel much better for it.
Hope you've had a lovely half term. x

It’s half term and bank holiday weekend! Hooray 😃

News:
⭐️There will be no Bliss Me Quick class on Monday, as I’m having a much needed break. Classes will continue after half term. Please let me know if you would like to join our fabulous group.
⭐️ I’m not taking any new one to one clients for the next couple of weeks. I’m fully booked and need all of my appointments for current clients. If you would like an appointment, I can add you to a waiting list. I will then contact you when appointments become available again.
Enjoy your weekend! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

I received this message yesterday from someone who has been drinking heavily since the age of 14. I have posted about him before, but here is his story if you missed it:

Alcohol was affecting his whole life: his health, his family and self esteem. He would buy cans to drink on the walk home from work, and drink all through the weekend, not sleeping at all on Saturday night. At the first session, he told me he wanted to stop drinking because of his family, not for himself. We explored that a little and I explained that he needed to think about how it would improve his life too, as his sessions were more likely to be successful if he did.
When I returned for the second session, he had not touched alcohol at all in that week. He described the feeling by saying it felt as though he had got in a rocket to another planet where everything else was the same, but he was different. He said now he was doing it for himself too.
We have completed our time together now, he has a very happy wife and he feels incredible. I think the text says it all.

Yes! This fabulous post from Fiona Mitchell Physiotherapy & Wellbeing for Women says it all. When I created a course for a large, local business I told them exactly this. Exercise doesn’t have to mean running or going to the gym. All that matters is that you are moving your body and having fun. 💃

Many women lose confidence and become more anxious during their menopause transition.

I’ll call it that because we have to remember many women who go through menopause are not in their midlife, they’re not 45-55 years old and they may be going through menopause for medical or surgical reasons.

Yesterday during the session by about menopause transition, Jenny discussed finding movement, exercise, sport, whatever you’d like to call it, that made us happy, made our soul happy. Doing something you don’t like may strengthen your body but does it strengthen your soul? Your mind? Your being?? Does it provide the stress relief we know will benefit our whole wellbeing??

Last September I made a decision to try swimming in a lake. I’m not a great swimmer but not bad. I was nervous and under-confident when I went. I was anxious that I’d make a fool of myself!!

You know what through? I didn’t! My confidence has grown and now I stay in the water for long, swim further, feel stronger. I get up on a Saturday when I could stay in bed!

The reason for this post is to encourage you to try new things, whatever stage of life. If you hate them, ditch them. If you love them, embrace them. Find your confidence, have faith in your abilities ☺️
