Hello 👋🏻 I thought I’d do a little introduction post as I haven’t for a while. My name is Jo, I am a chartered physio specialising in musculoskeletal, sports injuries and vestibular rehab. I am qualified in acupuncture and sports massage. Prior to setting up my own business here on our family farm, I worked for many years in the NHS in several outpatient departments, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge. I pride myself on making sure my appointments are tailored to every individual and will work with you to come up with a treatment plan that isn’t just a quick fix. Besides being a physio I help my husband run our dairy farm and we have three lovely but lively daughters, aged 6 and under! My big passion in life has always been horses and it was a riding accident that led me to become a physio. I also love skiing (even if I’m rather bad at it!), swimming and running (which I’m not great at either but I give it a good go!). So that’s me! My clinic room was in need of a freshen up! The perfect summer holiday job 🎨👩🏻‍🎨🤪 although I’m not sure where there was more paint by the end of it, on the concrete or the kids faces 😆 but I have to say I was quite grateful for my little helpers today! ☀️

Quick morning run before starting work, whilst listening to this great running podcast as I seem to have had a lot of running injuries in clinic recently. Did you know that physios are legally required to keep up to date with our CPD and that this can be audited randomly. There is always more to learn, something I love about this job 🤓

Yesterday I had the heater on all day, today the air con is back out!!! Last week I was very honoured to be asked to pop along to the lovely Crowthers Accountants to chat all things wellbeing at work! We talked about posture at work, the importance of regular breaks, moving and hydration for your spinal health, as well as lots of fun practical exercises to keep you mobile at your desk!! Hopefully everyone found it useful and I had lots of fun getting my geek on and sharing lots of physio facts!

One of the reasons I love my job is that no two days or patients are ever the same! Yesterday one of my patients brought in part of his hang glider so that we could look his shoulder problem in more detail and make sure his rehab is really tailored to what he needs to be able to do for the up and coming season. I loved learning about a sport I knew nothing about. Everyday is a school day and it just goes to show, rehab always needs to be tailored to the individual and patient centred (NB patient consented to these photos being shared)

✨Back to it after the Christmas break with a full day of patients today. We had a lovely family time over Christmas, apart from needing to practice what I preach after injuring my back!!!
