๐Ÿšจ Our Emergency Departments at Alexandra Hospital and Worcestershire Royal Hospital are ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† busy.

Please help us by choosing the right service and only using A&E for the most serious illness or injuries.

Use NHS 111 online if you're unsure or need more advice.

๐ŸŽฅ 24 hours NOT in A&E.

When you need help, A&E might seem like the obvious choice. But there are many ways to get NHS help for non-emergencies that work around your life.

Get the right care, in the right place, at the right time โ€“ and help free-up emergency services for those who need them most this winter.

Crafting a masterpiece on our Children's Ward... โญ
A special clay making session gave young patients on our Riverbank Ward some time away from their bed spaces and a chance to use their imaginations and build something.

Anya from the Museum of Royal Worcester visited our ward last week to host the session where children made a variety of things with the clay from hedgehogs, mice and scorpions to festive Christmas decorations for their trees! ๐ŸŽ„โœจ

Activities like this help to normalise the hospital environment and allow children to carry out activities they might be doing at school or home. ๐Ÿ’›

Kind-hearted Will has been in and out of our hospitals for a decade, but every December, he and his mum don their festive hats and deliver Christmas joy to our Childrenโ€™s Clinic in Redditch.

Will and Becky donate presents every year to children needing our hospital care. Will knows exactly how daunting this can feel, as he lives with cystic fibrosis himself, but his generosity is helping to make a real difference to young people.

Our Paediatric team would like to say a huge thank you to them for spreading some festive cheer! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ—ž ๐๐„๐–๐’: Thousands of women could receive an earlier and safer diagnosis for endometriosis if a new clinical trial at our hospitals proves successful.

The clinical trial is the first in the NHS to study the accuracy of a new test to detect endometriosis without requiring surgery, which could transform the way the condition is diagnosed.

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, but can take years to be diagnosed and surgery is usually required to confirm a diagnosis.

The clinical trial will evaluate the new EndoSure test, which uses sensors placed on the abdomen to read the unique signal caused by the presence of endometriosis.

The study will take around a year so that our research team can fully review all the findings, with the results potentially allowing the new test to replace surgery as the gold standard tool for diagnosing endometriosis across the NHS.

Baby loss is rarely spoken about - especially by men - but affects lots of families.

Today on International Menโ€™s Day, Bill bravely shares his story of the heartbreaking loss of his son shortly after birth.

Bill wanted to raise awareness of baby loss and help encourage other men and families to talk about a subject thatโ€™s often avoided.
