If you loose a toe nail -
▪️Avoid using toxic nail polishes or stick on nails
▪️Keep nails clean

A fungal nail infection is often caused by fungal organisms such as yeast, bacteria or molds which can cause the nail to become discoloured and brittle.

These can enter the nail through
▪️Skin to skin contact
▪️Trauma to the nail
▪️Wearing shoes that make your feet hot and sweaty
▪️Walking barefoot (Swimming pools, changing rooms or outside)

A Fungal nail infection can take a long time to treat and requires regular and consistent treatment inorder for improvements to be seen.

Over summer remember to give your nails a break from nail polish and gels as these contain chemicals which can dry your nails out causing them to become brittle and result in white, rough patches on the surface of the nail!

If your toe nails appear brittle, cracked and dry from long term polish use, allow them time to rehydrate and treat with a nail hydration oil 💙

So many people are embarrassed or ashamed of their feet and the way they look!
But we should remember that our feet are our foundation and they allow us to do so many things, so taking care of them is vital to our overall health 💙

As a foot health practitioner I can offer advice and treatment on various foot conditions such as cracked heels, fungal infections, callus build up and ingrown toe nails.

Getting on top and treating these conditions early will help to prevent more serious issues that can sometimes take longer to heal if left untreated!
