✨ Hypermobile? Wondering if Chiropractic Care is Right for You?
Short answer - absolutely! ✨

Hypermobility is a condition where your joints move further than average. It can be hereditary, related to connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome, or developed through injury or high-demand sports such as gymnastics. Some people experience it throughout the whole body, while others notice it in just a few joints.

Many hypermobile people deal with symptoms such as :
• Ongoing muscle tension
• Joint pain or instability
• Recurrent sprains or strains
• Partial or full dislocations, even with minimal trauma
• Fatigue, digestive issues, or symptoms of POTS

Chiropractic care can play a supportive role in managing these long-term symptoms. Treatments are always tailored to your needs, often using gentler, low-force techniques and exercises designed to build strength, stability, and confidence in your movement.

If you’re hypermobile and looking for safe, supportive care, we’re here to help you feel stronger and move comfortably.

Winter is here - and so are shorter, darker days!

That means it’s more important than ever to keep your Vitamin D levels topped up. Vitamin D plays a huge role in keeping your bones strong, your muscles working well, and your immune system firing; all essential for staying healthy and getting the most out of your chiropractic care.

Because we produce less Vitamin D in winter, NICE recommends that most adults and children take a daily supplement (10 micrograms/400 IU) from October to March, and all year round if you’re under 5, over 65 or have limited sun exposure.

You can boost your levels with:
✨ Vitamin D3 supplements (options include tablets, gummies or mouth sprays)
✨ Foods like oily fish, eggs, dairy, and fortified cereals or milks

Top Tip: Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble, so take it with a healthy fat (think nuts, seeds, yoghurt, or oily fish) for optimal absorption.

Strong bones, healthy muscles, and a resilient immune system = a happier spine this winter. Your body will thank you! 🌞❄️

Meet the Team!

Meet Andy - Chiropractor and our resident golf specialist!

As well as having done training in golf biomechanics, Andy is an avid golfer himself and is passionate about helping golfers of all levels avoid injury and improve their performance.

He also has a particular interest in shoulder injuries, finding a fantastic balance between manual therapy and progressive, individualised rehab programmes to optimise recovery.

Outside of work, Andy can often be found on the golf course or in his home gym. He is also partial to a 'wee dram' (ask him about his whiskey collection!) to relax with after a round, and even recently did a whiskey tour of the Scottish Highlands!

What is 'normal' in terms of recovery?

It’s completely understandable to hope that once treatment starts, you’ll just keep feeling better - less pain, more movement, and steady progress toward recovery. And while that is sometimes the direction things go, healing doesn’t always happen in a straight line.

There may be days when you feel amazing and others when things feel a bit tougher. Those ups and downs are a normal part of the process, they don’t mean you’re moving backward or that treatment isn’t working.

We’re here to support you through it all, the good days and the challenging ones - helping you stay on track, make adjustments when needed, and keep moving toward your goals and a healthier, more comfortable you.

Every day is a school day for our chiropractors.
After a busy day in clinic, Mel, David, Beth and Alex (at the back of the class!), attended an orthopaedic seminar in Cheltenham.
Keeping up to date with education and research is something that we take very seriously, with all of our chiropractors sharpening their knowledge and skills on a weekly basis.

Did you know that strong hips are key to more than just hip health?

They play a vital role in supporting your lower back, knees, and even your ankles.

In this video, Alex demonstrates one of our favourite strengthening exercises: the banded lateral walk. All you need is a resistance band and a little space. Try completing 3 sets of 10–15 steps in each direction to activate and strengthen your glutes.

Give it a try and let us know how it feels — you might notice a burn, but don’t worry, it’s the kind that helps build strength and stability!

🦴 Today is World Osteoporosis Day 🦴

Osteoporosis is a condition where bone density decreases, making bones weaker and more prone to fractures. It affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men over the age of 50 - but the good news is that with early action, it can often be prevented or well managed.

Here are 5 steps to support healthy bones:

1️⃣ Exercise Regularly
Incorporate weight-bearing, muscle-strengthening, and balance-training exercises into your routine. Movement keeps bones and muscles strong and helps maintain stability.
2️⃣ Prioritise Nutrition
A balanced diet rich in calcium, vitamin D, and protein is essential. Safe sunlight exposure helps with vitamin D production, but supplementation is recommended from October to April (or year-round if you’re over 60).
3️⃣ Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
Maintain a healthy body weight, avoid smoking, and limit alcohol intake to support long-term bone strength.
4️⃣ Know Your Risk Factors
Speak with your GP if you have a family history of osteoporosis, have experienced fractures, or take medications that affect bone health.
5️⃣ Get Tested & Treated if Needed
If you’re at higher risk, a DEXA scan can assess bone density. Your doctor may recommend medication or lifestyle changes to help protect against fractures.

Taking small, proactive steps today can make a huge difference in maintaining strong, healthy bones for life. 💪
