πŸ‘οΈ Diabetic Eye Screening – Protect Your Vision πŸ‘οΈ

Did you know that diabetic eye disease often has no symptoms until it’s advanced? Diabetes can seriously damage your vision β€” but with early detection and treatment, this damage can be prevented.

The NHS offers free diabetic eye screening for anyone living with diabetes. This is different from your regular sight test at the opticians, so it’s important to attend both.

During screening, eye drops are used to dilate your pupils and digital photographs are taken of the back of your eyes (the retina). These images are then reviewed by accredited specialists to check for early signs of diabetic eye disease.

✨ Which vision would you rather have?
Protect your sight by attending your screening appointment.

If you haven’t received an appointment letter, please contact the Booking Office:

πŸ’™ International Day of Persons with Disabilities – 3rd December πŸ’™

Today, we join the global community in recognising and celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities β€” a day dedicated to promoting inclusion, understanding, and equal opportunities for all.

This year’s focus highlights the importance of breaking down barriers, empowering individuals, and ensuring that people with disabilities are fully included in every aspect of society β€” socially, economically, and culturally.

Let’s use today to reflect, learn, and commit to creating a world where accessibility, respect, and equality are the norm.

Together, we can build a more inclusive future for everyone. β™Ώβœ¨

❀️ World AIDS Day – 1st December ❀️

Today, we stand together to raise awareness, show support for people living with HIV, and remember those we have lost.

World AIDS Day is a reminder of the importance of education, prevention, testing, and compassion. HIV stigma still exists β€” and breaking it starts with open, honest conversations and understanding.

Let’s continue working towards a world where everyone affected by HIV is treated with dignity, supported, and empowered.

Support. Educate. Remember. πŸ•―οΈ

🌺 Armistice Day – 11th November 2025 🌺

Today, we honour and remember all those who served and sacrificed during World War I and in conflicts since.

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause to reflect on their bravery, dedication, and the peace their service helped secure.

We will remember them. ❀️

πŸ’™ Anti-Bullying Week – 10th to 14th November 2025 πŸ’™

This week, we stand together to say no to bullying and yes to kindness.

Organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA), this national campaign brings together organisations and individuals across the UK to raise awareness, promote respect, and create safer environments for everyone β€” in schools, workplaces, and communities.

Let’s make kindness our strength and remind each other that every action counts. πŸ’«

πŸ’š International Stress Awareness Week – 3rd to 7th November πŸ’š

This week is all about shining a light on stress, its impact on our lives, and the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing.

We all experience stress β€” but learning how to manage it, talk about it, and take time for ourselves can make a big difference. 🌿

Let’s raise awareness, reduce the stigma, and remind ourselves that self-care isn’t selfish β€” it’s essential. Take a break, breathe deeply, and prioritise your wellbeing this week and beyond. πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ
