MHA Amathea

At Amathea, we provide residential and dementia care for our 40 residents in purpose-built, en suite accommodation.

We’re situated in the heart of Cumbrian market town, Workington, close to the River Derwent.

Amathea are having a beautiful Easter Hamper Raffle, Many thanks go to Ellen and Tracey for their donation. If you would like to take part the raffle tickets cost £1.00 for a strip. Please pop in for your raffle tickets. The winner will be drawn on Tuesday 7 April 🐣🐇

Yesterday our wonderful residents celebrated 🍀St Patrick's Day🍀in the morning they enjoyed some Irish jokes, famous things Ireland is known for, famous people from Ireland, funny limericks, St Patrick's Day quizzes, word search and Anagrams as well as a brief history of St Patrick 🇮🇹💚 in the afternoon we had a good sing along and dance, they watched a bit of Michael Flatleys Lord of the Dance (Riverdance) and we done a bit of Irish dancing 🇮🇹🍀Residence also enjoyed a guinness or guinness shandy, lots of fun and laughter was had by all 💚🍀🇮🇹

Amathea would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day 💐 ❤️ Our thoughts also go to those wonderful mothers who are no longer with us. This week our wonderful residents have enjoyed a lunch outing, pamper sessions 💅💕 St Patrick's day arts and crafts 🍀💚 ready for St Patrick's Day. They have enjoyed mothers day poems, quizzes and things your mother told you as well as plenty of reminiscing, they have also enjoyed some lovely mother's day cup cakes made by our wonderful Tracey🧁🌹❤️ other activities have included armchair Exercises and having a good sing along and dance🎤🎶💕

Our wonderful residents have enjoyed various activities they have celebrated International Women's Day, which included famous women Inventors, women who changed the world, famous quotes and name the famous women picture quiz 👩‍❤️‍👩other activities have included knit and natter group🧶poetry Group with a bit of Pam Ayres and many more famous poets, dominos tournament and the winner was Jim 🏆❤️ A tasting session 🥞🍰 picture quizzes, reminiscing of famous movie stars, games, and having a good sing along and dance🎤🎶💕

Happy St David’s Day for tomorrow everyone! Dydd Gwyl Dewi hapus!, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿This morning we discussed the history of St Davids day, also facts and trivia, we had a St David's Day quiz, followed by lots of poetry. This afternoon we had a sing a long and dance🎶to a bit of Tom Jones who was from wales, 🎤🌼 and many more artists. what a great day enjoyed by all 💕👍

Our wonderful residents enjoying their activities they have celebrated Pancake day, many thanks go to Ellen for the pancakes and the choice of toppings residents enjoyed choosing what they wanted and thought they were delicious 😍 They have celebrated Chinese New Year🈵⛩️ other activities have included dominos tournament and the winner was Elda🏆❤️A lunch outing to the Royal George, pampering sessions including nails, hand and face massages,💅 armchair exercises💪picture quizzes, guess the family, famous February birthdays, not forgetting a good sing along and dance🎤🎶💕

❤️❤️ Our residents have enjoyed their valentine activities this week, they have decorated their very own heart shaped shortbread cakes for Valentine's Day💝💘 also entertainer Paul Rich come and sang a variety of valentines songs our residents thought he was great and they all had a good sing along🎤💝 We've had a valentine's day quiz tournament and the winner was Clara 📜other activities have included valentines day reminiscing and poems, dominos tournament and the winner was Margaret 🏆 pampering sessions and armchair exercises💪 not forgetting a good sing along and dance🎤🎶💕❤️
