After 30 years in the Catering trade I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the business. I was the best pot washer....best waitress.....best commis chef......I followed the rules. I gained a culinary education, studying hard and working hard. I loved it. My Goal to one day become a Head Chef and run my own Kitchen and team. I achieved this after years of Graft, learning on the job, growing in confidence and earning the respect of my piers. What next? My own place? Following your dreams can sometimes seem like that just a dream, but I did it. I got my own place, my own business free to do whatever I wanted and I LOVED it. I put my own stamp on the Pub and Resteraunt, I was so proud of my place and I continued to work hard and never take it for granted. After many years when it was time for me to move on I missed it and was sorry to sell. It was time for me to focus on having a family of my own. That was 12 years ago and in that time I have mainly worked on a consultancy basis. After 30 years in the Catering trade I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the business.
I worked my way up from the bottom succeeding in every sector.
I was the best pot washer...I worked hard on being the best waitress....I tried to be the best commis chef......I followed the rules.
I gained a culinary education, studying hard and working hard. I loved it.

My Goal to one day become a Head Chef and run my own Kitchen and team.
I achieved this after years of Graft, learning on the job, growing in confidence and earning the respect of my piers. The years of unsociable hours started to pay off.

What next? My own place?

Following your dreams can sometimes seem like that just a dream, but I did it.
I got my own place, my own business free to do whatever I wanted and I LOVED it.
I made mistakes!
I pushed through!

I put my own stamp on the Pub and Restaraunt, I was so proud of my place and I continued to work hard and never take it for granted.
After many years when it was time for me to move on I missed it and was sorry to sell.

It was time for me to focus on having a family of my own.

That was 12 years ago and in that time I have mainly worked on a consultancy basis.

I visited The Venus on Saturday 29th January.

We were met on arrival and taken to the bar area, the surroundings are comfortable and warm. The staff welcoming and chatty.

There is a lovely atmosphere and the place feels classy.

I went for the set menu because I love food and 3 courses is a treat.
I ordered a bottle of Prosecco to be brought out with the meal

When our food was ready we were led into the restaurant, white tablecloths, linin napkins, polished glass ware all signs to me that I am going to be well looked after.
The starters arrived with the fizz, the fizz served in a wine cooler beside the table and poured by the staff. the starter beautifully presented I had Asparagus wrapped in salmon and deep fried in a light batter. It was delicious. My husband went for the prawn cocktail also lovely.
My maincourse of Rib eye steak was perfectly cooked, the vegetables silver served and the staff remained attentive throughout the meal.
I ended with a creme brulee and a brandy coffee and left venus satisfied, full and looking forward to returning there again one day.

If your looking for a lovely atmosphere, top quality food and fabulous service Venus is the place to visit.
