On the 4th of April the people who live with us enjoyed an Easter family fun day. Families enjoyed doing an Easter egg hunt around the gardens and woods, some residents and children had their faces painted and tattoos by Charlotte from Family First Entertainment. Then we all enjoyed a fantastic show by Andy & Co and their amazing dogs, Fizz and Chanel.

The people who live with us enjoyed being together for our first Gardening Club of the year. The members enjoyed planting a selection of summer flowering seeds, including, sweet peas and sun flowers. This week some of the people who live with us were very fortunate to watch a performance by Vicky McClures, Our Dementia Choir as featured on the BBC, at our monthly trip to singing with Dementia at the crossing church.

We all found the performance very moving and emotional and we loved having the chance to take part, as well getting up to dance along to some of the songs.

Over the weekend we celebrated Mother's Day at Gateford Hill.

Sunday morning every lady living with us received a pot of daffodils from the lifestyle team and in the afternoon families were invited to join their mums for a delicious afternoon tea prepared and served by the lifestyle team. We also received a lovely treat from a family of a gentleman who has come to live with us.

The people who live with us enjoyed a visit from Bowen, the son of one of our carers. Everyone had great fun trying their hand at a selection of games and puzzles, and two of our gentleman built a Lego aeroplane and helicopter for Bowen!

The people who live with us enjoyed getting together for Baking Club and making cheesecakes. Everyone helped weighing the ingredients, mixing and decorating and later in the day, sampling the results of their hard work!

There was plenty of fun, laughter and memories about baking and favourite cakes. A lovely way to spend the morning.

Some of the gentleman who live with us enjoyed a trip to Bolsover Castle with Myley for More...Fresh Air. We enjoyed learning about the history and taking in the beautiful surroundings, and of course a trip to the cafe for tea and cake!

Gateford Hill is one of Nottinghamshire’s most popular nursing and residential homes. Set in a beautiful part of Nottinghamshire, the large specially converted grand grade two listed period home was built in 1824 and is set in 30 acres of grounds. We have two acres of landscaped gardens and a nine hole putting green for our residents to enjoy.
