๐ World Mental Health Day โ 10th October ๐
Letโs talk about mental healthโnot just for us grown-ups, but for our kids too! ๐ Family yoga is more than just fun and games (although, trust me, there will be plenty of that ๐). Itโs also about teaching our little ones tools they can use to manage their emotions, reduce stress, and stay calm in lifeโs little storms. ๐ง๏ธ

In todayโs world, even kids face stress and anxiety (school, friendships, peer pressure). Family yoga creates a safe space where children can move, breathe, and connect with their bodies and emotions. Itโs like sneaking in a little mindfulness without them even realising it. ๐
๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ด๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฝ?
๐ฟ Emotional Regulation: Teaching children simple breathing techniques helps them manage big emotions. You know the onesโthe "I canโt believe my toast is cut into squares instead of triangles" kind of meltdowns. ๐ Just a few deep breaths can bring things back from Defcon 1.
๐ฟ Connection: Practising yoga as a family builds stronger bonds, teaches kids how to express themselves, and models how important mental health is. And yes, there might be some giggles when someone topples over in tree pose, but thatโs all part of the fun! ๐คธโโ๏ธ
๐ฟ Self-Awareness: Yoga helps children become more aware of how they feel, both physically and emotionally. This self-awareness is a vital life skill, giving them tools to understand their feelings and how to navigate themโwhether theyโre dealing with school stress or just a busy day.

Talking about mental health with children is just as important as talking about physical health. Through family yoga, they learn that taking care of their minds is just as important as taking care of their bodies. ๐งโโ๏ธ And trust me, kids love it when they see their grown ups getting in on the fun, too!
For me family yoga is all about connection, both in-person and online. My classes create a safe space where children (and grown ups!) can feel supported, move freely, and leave the session feeling lighter and more in tune with each other. Letโs teach our kids that finding is something we can all do together, no matter how young or old we are. ๐
