Itโ€™s heart breaking that, even today, so many girls around the world face inequality and lack access to opportunities that should be their basic right. On 11th October, the International Day of the Girl reminds us of the urgent need to support and empower girls everywhere. ๐ŸŒ World Mental Health Day โ€“ 10th October ๐ŸŒ

Letโ€™s talk about mental healthโ€”not just for us grown-ups, but for our kids too! ๐Ÿ’š Family yoga is more than just fun and games (although, trust me, there will be plenty of that ๐Ÿ’). Itโ€™s also about teaching our little ones tools they can use to manage their emotions, reduce stress, and stay calm in lifeโ€™s little storms. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

๐—ช๐—ต๐˜† ๐—™๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฎ?
In todayโ€™s world, even kids face stress and anxiety (school, friendships, peer pressure). Family yoga creates a safe space where children can move, breathe, and connect with their bodies and emotions. Itโ€™s like sneaking in a little mindfulness without them even realising it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐—›๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฎ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฝ?
๐ŸŒฟ Emotional Regulation: Teaching children simple breathing techniques helps them manage big emotions. You know the onesโ€”the "I canโ€™t believe my toast is cut into squares instead of triangles" kind of meltdowns. ๐Ÿž Just a few deep breaths can bring things back from Defcon 1.

๐ŸŒฟ Connection: Practising yoga as a family builds stronger bonds, teaches kids how to express themselves, and models how important mental health is. And yes, there might be some giggles when someone topples over in tree pose, but thatโ€™s all part of the fun! ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐ŸŒฟ Self-Awareness: Yoga helps children become more aware of how they feel, both physically and emotionally. This self-awareness is a vital life skill, giving them tools to understand their feelings and how to navigate themโ€”whether theyโ€™re dealing with school stress or just a busy day.

๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐˜€, ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ผ!
Talking about mental health with children is just as important as talking about physical health. Through family yoga, they learn that taking care of their minds is just as important as taking care of their bodies. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ And trust me, kids love it when they see their grown ups getting in on the fun, too!

For me family yoga is all about connection, both in-person and online. My classes create a safe space where children (and grown ups!) can feel supported, move freely, and leave the session feeling lighter and more in tune with each other. Letโ€™s teach our kids that finding is something we can all do together, no matter how young or old we are. ๐ŸŒŸ
