Nottinghamshire Mind will exist to provide support, information and guidance on mental health issues.

Mental Health Charity

Supporting the people of Mansfield & Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Newark & Sherwood, Broxtowe, Gedling and surrounding areas with Mental Health and Wellbeing. Our vision is to ensure that everyone experiencing a mental health issue gets both support and respect. Our goals are to:

Nottinghamshire Mind will be a focal point for people with mental health issues, inclusive and there for everyone. An organisation in which people with mental health issues can feel safe and distance themselves from the stigma that exists in the outside world. The lead for accessing mental health services in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Mind’s goal is to promote recovery, instil knowledge and involve the community. It seeks to empower people to take responsibility for their own mental health
recovery. Nottinghamshire Mind will exist to promote good mental health, to educate, inform, reduce stigma and build the resilience of the local community. To provide a supportive and empowering environment for people with mental health issues and their carers, a place for people with mental health issues to go to feel accepted, signposted and supported, to help people move forward with their lives. The purpose of Nottinghamshire Mind is to provide services for people with mental health issues. It delivers services and support to the most vulnerable in our community, including education and information groups for men and women, promoting recovery and emotional wellbeing. Nottinghamshire Mind will provide fit for purpose services that fill a gap in the County and will be the first port of call on mental health issues. Nottinghamshire Mind will work with a diverse group of people with different backgrounds, will not discriminate and not judge or exclude those with mental health issues. Nottinghamshire Mind will work with statutory and non-statutory services alongside the general public, because mental health issues affect everyone. Nottinghamshire Mind will work with anyone who would benefit from improving their mental wellbeing.

It can be really hard to see the positives when you’re going through a tough time, but even trying to shift your mindset can make a difference. It takes courage, and it’s not always easy - but the more you practise it, the more natural it can become.💙

Some situations are beyond our control, but there’s comfort in knowing you’re not alone. Our groups offer a safe space to connect and share what’s on your mind, and our crisis sanctuaries phone lines are open seven days a week from 4:00pm–11:00pm for support when you need it most.🧡

Join Allotted Time – our weekly gardening group where you can get stuck into all things allotment! From preparing beds and sowing seeds, to tending plants and harvesting produce. 🌿

Whether you’re planting, weeding, or simply enjoying the outdoors, gardening is a great way to unwind and lift your spirits.💙

It’s also a lovely way to share ideas, meet new people, and feel part of a growing, green community.

We meet every Thursday morning, 10am at the Claylands Avenue Allotments – rain or shine! No experience needed, just dress for the weather and bring along your enthusiasm.

📢PLEASE NOTE:

Buxton Movers is now running as Couch to 5K Beeston.

Pre-booking is now open for the 10-session programme starting on 1st of May. The course is designed for beginner to novice runners, gradually increasing your running capacity and finishing with a 5K park run. Participants will receive a medal upon completion!🎖

In the meantime, we’ll continue with relaxed social runs, open to all and at your own pace.
