Caer Gwent combines superb residential living with 24-hour expert nursing care, supporting individuals with complex health conditions.

Our home has a high staff-to-resident ratio, with a versatile team built around residents’ needs. As well providing around-the-clock nursing care, we have dedicated Health & Wellbeing Coordinators who deliver regular and stimulating activities catered to individuals’ interests. Opened in 1988 by the Earl of March, Caer Gwent is an elegant care home set in a quiet residential area of Worthing. Our home features spacious and airy surroundings, beautiful furnishings and well-tended landscaped gardens.

Armchair Travel to Ireland 🍀 🪑

Residents recently took part in an Armchair Travel session to the Emerald Isle.

We shared memories of holidays, talked about kissing the Blarney Stone, enjoyed some River dance clips and explored the top ten places to visit in Ireland.

It was a fun and lively session filled with conversation and laughter.

💛☕ Sammy’s Tea Rooms and Mother’s Day at Caer Gwent ❤️🌸

We have enjoyed some lovely moments at Caer Gwent recently.

We held our first ever Sammy’s Tea Rooms and it was a great success. Residents enjoyed homemade cakes, savoury treats and a warm, friendly atmosphere. One team member said it felt just like being in a real tearoom with everyone chatting together. Thank you to everyone who baked, donated and helped on the day.

Residents enjoyed it so much that they asked if we could do it again, so our next Tea Afternoon will be on 6 May, when we will be hosting a Strawberry Tea.

We also celebrated a beautiful Mother’s Day. It was wonderful to see so many relatives visiting and spending special time with their mums.

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Armchair Travel day to Turkey this week at Caer Gwent.

The morning began with a virtual tour of Turkey’s top landmarks, which sparked lovely memories for several residents who had visited Istanbul in the past. There was lots of laughter too during a belly‑dancing video that everyone enjoyed watching together.

Residents and staff then shared a delicious Turkish‑themed lunch. The colourful dishes were a hit, and the chocolate dessert was especially popular — the dining room fell into happy silence as everyone enjoyed it.

A fantastic day of culture, stories and great food for everyone involved.

🌍 Armchair Travel: Italy Edition!

Recently our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Italy as part of our Armchair Travel series. We shared interesting facts, talked about past visits and listened to Italian music. Residents loved watching a video of Italy’s top sights, especially the Sistine Chapel.

We also enjoyed tasting Italian biscuits and wafers with a refreshing tonic water. In the afternoon, everyone had fun making their own pizzas with ingredients prepared by Chef Simon and his team. Sue, Pam, Brenda and her family all got involved and Leah helped make pizzas for residents relaxing in their rooms. May saved hers to enjoy later with her daughter.

It was a lovely day full of memories, music and delicious food.

Next stop we will be travelling to Turkey and enjoying a themed lunch!

Today is Employee Appreciation Day and we want to celebrate the incredible people who make Guild Care such a special place every single day.
