Nature connection workshops and events in and around the South Downs.

Just posting some photos from a beautiful late January walk in Beach House Park. We were connecting to the early signs of spring - what we could see, hear, smell and touch.

At the end we created a group word picture of our experience.

SAY SAY SAY

Say spring is springing out of the bareness under the tickle tree,
Say that hidden in the bark, hidden in the nodules are faces and frogs.
The early spring air is perfumed,
The tiny little mouse is finding it’s house,
The chubby squirrel is busy nesting,
Winged ones calling and flying around, welcoming us to this place.
A carpet of colour emerges, showing the signs of spring,
New bulbs awakening throughout the park.
The stillness of the day with sunshine bursting through.
When I was sleeping I heard the grass growing.
Say - spring is springing out!

By the end of the walk people felt peaceful, relaxed, grounded, content, energised, grateful, regenerated and connected.

Our first nature connection walk of the year! The storm had just passed and a group of people braved the cold and the last drops of rain to walk along the coast connecting to wind, sea, sky and gulls. We were gifted the beauty of the sun setting through the clouds.

As we came to the end of our time together people felt calm, settled, relaxed and grateful.

"Even though it was very cold it was lovely to be outside enjoying nature!"

Just a couple of places left on Natural Academy's 3 day Ecopsychology Threshold Course at the Centre for Ecotherapy in Stanmer Park, Brighton - Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th October 2025.

This course will introduce you to three realms of practice and you will learn skills, theories and practices applicable immediately. You will also have time in nature for your own health, wellbeing and development.

As the first harvest is gathered we are sharing information about this autumn offering of myth, soma and ceremony by Siân and Rhonda.

Over four days and three nights we'll share a gentle and transformative time in community - supporting one another as we open our hearts to the truth of this moment. We will deepen into the ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna through storytelling, movement, creative practices, ceremony and time on the land. Asking ourselves - what can we 'hear' when we step away from the distractions of our everyday lives?

Thursday 9th October - Sunday 12th October 2025, held in the beautiful setting of Ham Green House, Pill, near Bristol. £425 or £350 for current NA students.

Photos from Natural Academy's Foundation Course in May. This took place at the beautiful Centre for Ecotherapy in Brighton. This is running there again Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th October.

So, if you're interested in working with people in nature, or developing your work in this field, this experiential, nature-based course is for you. It will introduce you to knowledge, skills and practice across three realms:

Yesterday we were at the beautiful Centre for Ecotherapy in Stanmer Park, Brighton for a site visit. We're excited to be facilitating Natural Academy's Threshold course there Fri 9th - Sun 11th May.

Yesterday was the first in a series of nature connection walks funded by - thank you, the funding is very much appreciated.

We spent time in Longcroft Park and Whitebeam Woods listening to birdsong. We heard blackcap, wren, great spotted woodpecker, robin, great tit, blackbird, bluetit, nuthatch, song thrush and wood pigeon. What gift that was.

People said they felt serene, peaceful, relaxed, restful, sleepy and regenerated when we finished our two hour walk.

We are delighted that funding from Sport England means that we will be running a programme of nature connection mindful walks throughout this year.

As we step into spring this is just to let you know that Natural Academy are running two Threshold Courses in Brighton this year, please see the details below.
This great three day experiential course will take place at the Centre for Ecotherapy in Stanmer Park in May and October. It is a great introduction to working with people in nature.

There are a few places left for the Natural Academy Threshold Course taking place at the Ecotherapy Centre in Brighton on 2nd, 3rd and 4th Oct.

This course is designed for people who want to begin OR enhance their work with people in nature.

This course will introduce you to the three realms of practice: Nature, Health and Wellbeing, Ecotherapy/Wholeness, Healing and Growth AND Deeper Nature/Spiritual Ecology.
You will learn skills, theories and practices that you can apply immediately. You will also have time in nature for your personal health, wellbeing and development.

The cost is £220 for all three days.
