Residents at Abbeyfield House Bramhall Abbeyfield Living Society have been getting into the Halloween spirit, busily crafting spooky ghosts and colouring wooden pumpkins to hang on our frightfully fun Halloween tree! 👻🎃

Gwen had a great time making a little boy ghost, and our scarecrow has had a magical makeover – she’s now a witch! The whole house is looking wonderfully festive, thanks to all the residents’ help with decorating and pumpkin displays.

Today, we’re rounding off the celebrations with a spooktacular Halloween party full of fun, laughter, and games.

Happy Halloween everyone 🎃 from all of us at Bramhall ❤️

After 20 years of incredible service, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Kay Gibson, who retired as a long-term committee member at Abbeyfield Fulwood at the start of October.

Kay has been an instrumental part of our community, notably taking the lead in welcoming new residents and spearheading our advertising efforts. Her dedication will be sorely missed.

We celebrated Kay's commitment with a beautiful afternoon tea, where she was presented with an Abbeyfield Certificate of Appreciation, along with flowers and wine.

From all of us, we send Kay every good wish for a long and happy retirement! 🥂

Something magical happened at Winton House this week! 🧙‍♀️✨

Residents at Winton House - Abbeyfield Maidenhead had a wonderfully fun and creative session with Purple Robin, turning humble little flower pots into these adorable, spooky witches!

It was a brilliant afternoon of crafting, chatting, and getting hands-on. We love them!

Veteran Joy Trew Sits Beside King at VE Day Parade 💙

Abbeyfield Wells Society resident, Joy Trew, was invited to the VE day parade celebrations in May, and found herself sitting next to King Charles.

The 98-year-old World War Two veteran, who served in WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) and at Bletchley Park, said she "had no idea" that she was going to be seated next to His Majesty.

Her daughter had been asked if Joy would be ok sitting next to a very important person - she said "absolutely!" Joy didn't know who this very important person would be until the very last minute and then realised it was King Charles.

Joy said that he was very kind to her and they spoke about lots of different things - he even helped her with her blanket to make sure she kept warm.

Buzzing with knowledge 🐝🍯

Last week, residents from Abbeyfield House Great Missenden enjoyed hosting author, speaker and beekeeper Meriet Duncan for a fascinating talk on honeybees.

After the talk, residents were able to get their books signed and order some honey.

Thanks to Meriet to sharing her expertise and bringing such an engaging session to the house.

Sometimes the best days are built around the simplest things 🁅❤️

It was all about making new friends and sharing a laugh at Fern House at Abbeyfield The Dales recently as residents had a fantastic time catching up, enjoying their favourite game and welcoming some new faces to the group over tea and coffee.

Shining bright at Abbeyfield Loughborough ✨

This week, the halls at Abbeyfield Loughborough were filled with light, laughter and incredible food as they celebrated Diwali.

Their kitchen team created an amazing spread of authentic, traditional Indian food that was a massive hit with residents and staff.

Add in the beautiful, colourful saris worn by their fantastic carers, and the whole day felt like an exciting and immersive celebration. It was a feast for the eyes and the stomach.

Wishing everyone a joyful Diwali and a prosperous new year!
