Our residents at Melrose love to take every opportunity to be out in our garden on a Sunny Day.

Today they took up the challenge of French Boules. Everyone was showing off their skills.

It was great to have Donna our Occupational Therapy Student rising to the challenge too. Well done all 👏

Our residents were delighted today to have the Students from Sion School join us.

Today, was an introduction to the residents and a chance to talk about what will be happening.

Some of the year 5 students will do the biography project , some year 6 will do a different project but yet to be confirmed.

These sessions are always so very positive for the Students and our Residents.

Thank you Sion Students for coming to see us at Melrose. 😀

Today our residents at melrose celebrated St George’s day with a clotted Cream and Jam scone.

What’s is the correct etiquette cream or Jam first? What would you say?

I think it’s Cream then Jam. I like to taste the Jam before the Cream!

Today was a wonderful sunny day. So some of our residents thought let’s go out just like you or I might.

We have a great local park and a local pub which are two perfect wins for our residents .

We had residents that were able to help other residents to be part of the day.

There is something very special being part of the Melrose Family / Community. We help each other to be the best we can be and do the things we most want to do.

Our residents say they wouldn’t be anywhere else.

We took the opportunity to get outside again yesterday whilst taking part in our physio session.

It is said that spending time outside significantly improves physical and mental health by reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, boosting mood via sunlight and improving sleep quality.

Even 120 minutes of weekly exposure to green spaces increases energy, creativity and immunity.

We have made a great start this week to those 120 minutes.

The Melrose garden yesterday was full of Sunshine 😎 and residents.

They took the opportunity to do some artwork.
They used watercolours.

Some had previous experience some tried painting for the very first time.
Everyone was proud of what they achieved and said what a good day it had been.

Learning and growth trying something new and enjoyment and fun are all part of our Values at Melrose.

Yesterday was a great example of how we demonstrate our values.

Residents to be part of the things they enjoy.

So today a number of residents enjoyed inviting family in whilst others took the opportunity to go out.

A wonderful day was had by all.👏

Today on a miserable wet bank holiday Friday some of the residents at Melrose took the opportunity to pop down to The Brewhouse for a before lunch drink.

Everyone had a great time and it was wonderful to have some families join us too.

One gentleman said the day has kicked off to a really fantastic start.

Another said Thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy some of the things we did when we were at home 👏👏

Many of our residents love the outside with turning their hand to what they can grow.

Many also love words and books.
