Holiday mode: switched on. Nervous system: reset. 🌿💧

Taking a break isn’t a luxury — it’s essential for both body and mind. Time away from routine helps reduce stress hormones, improves sleep, eases muscle tension, and gives the nervous system space to regulate.

As a Clinical Massage Therapist, I often remind clients that recovery isn’t only what happens on the treatment couch. It also happens when we rest, slow down, breathe deeply, move gently, and allow ourselves to switch off.

Even a short break can help you return feeling clearer, calmer, and more energised.

Back now and ready to help you feel your best again.

When was the last time you truly took a pause? ✨

I’m currently taking some time away to rest and recharge.

As much as I support others in caring for their bodies, it’s important that I do the same.

Taking time out to reset, bring focus to my breath, gentle exercise and notice the beauty all around.

I will reply to my messages on my return next week. You can book online using my website, see link in Bio.

This extract from the Mail was recently post by the Royal Osteoporosis Society concerning Osteopenia which is the precursor to Osteoporosis.

This article raises the question of bone density issues for women, although men are occasionally impacted.

There are numerous reasons for this condition ranging from menopause, due to declining oestrogen, right the way across the board to certain medications that can strip the calcium from your bones.

In ideal a world women would have their mammogram at 50 AND a Dexa scan - screening for bone density. Sadly we don’t live in that world.

Simple dietary changes, weight bearing exercises can reduce the risk.

I myself work with a PT on a weekly basis, as I have severe Osteoporosis. I also see a functional health practitioner Andrea Hughes Medical Herbalist- Functional Medicine who has recommended the appropriate supplements and I’m on HRT specifically for my bone density.

I often add standing on one leg, heel drops, jumps etc. These are simple exercises that you can include in your daily life.

If you have a familial history of bone density issues talk to your GP and request a Dexa scan. If you have surgery that impacts your ovaries then ask your GP for a Dexa scan.

Bone density issues can often be avoided, exercise and diet can help. Start early so it becomes a habit, don’t wait until you fall and fracture your hip or a bone! 😳😊

People don’t usually start by searching for a “massage therapist”.

They start by trying to figure out what’s going on with their body.

Why does it keep coming back?
Why isn’t it improving?
What actually helps?

That’s often the point they reach out.

It’s also why I take time to assess movement before using sports massage.
Understanding how your body is working — and adapting — is just as important as where it feels painful.

Restorative Movement is a small group class designed for people experiencing ongoing pain, stiffness or reduced mobility.

Led by a Clinical Massage Therapist, these sessions combine the MELT Method®, gentle yoga and Pilates-inspired exercises to support how your body moves and functions.

This is not a fitness class.
It’s a slower, more considered approach focused on:
• Improving joint mobility and stability
• Reducing accumulated tension and stress
• Supporting recovery from injury or surgery
• Helping you better understand your body

Many people who attend are already receiving sports or remedial massage, and use these sessions to maintain progress between treatments.

Classes are held in my home and are kept small to allow for individual guidance in a calm, supportive environment.

Weekly classes Monday at 18.00 and 19.15. Investment is £10 per class paid monthly in advance. Share/tag your friends for the gift that keeps on giving!
