Saw this quote on Etsy (not sure who owns/wrote it etc.) but I really liked it because it’s simple but does some up who massage is suitable for - EVERY body.
A lot of people still think that in order to need a then you need to play or take part in sports, which isn’t the case.
Our bodies and, particularly, our muscles do a lot of work - even in largely sedentary individuals - to carry out our daily activities or movement requirements. Moving from place to place, doing housework, walking to work, our jobs, looking after our kids or elderly relatives - are all activities which require movement and usage of the muscular system. The vast majority of us have a dominant side - a side which we use more than the other or a preferred side for lifting heavier objects etc. this, combined with our daily postures will eventually lead to muscle imbalances and could then lead to injuries.
Ever woken up with a stiff neck/shoulder on one side and thought “I must have slept funny, can’t think what else would have caused it 🤷♂️” well, that’s a sign of a potential imbalance and could be a more serious injury waiting to happen. Massage can help!
