Join West Sussex Mind for our first ever Kilo Sale!

Come and update your wardrobe and grab some bargains for the new year this February and help us raise money and awareness for Mental Health in West Sussex.

Kilo Sale is being held at Southwick Community Centre (The Garden Room) on Saturday 21st February 2026 from 11am until 3pm.

What is a Kilo Sale?

A Kilo Sale is a type of sale where items, typically second-hand clothing or vintage, are sold by weight instead of individual prices. You pay a set price per kilogram (e.g £20 per kilo), allowing you to mix and match different items and pay based on the total weight of your selection.

How much is it per Kilo?

We will be selling our Kilo at £20 - individual pricing available on our site

How does it work?

When you arrive you will be provided with a bag (you are also okay to bring your own bag) in which you can fill up as many items as you wish. You will only be charged on the weight, with 1 Kilo being £20. One you have browsed the items you want you will then go to the desk where your items will be weighed, and your final price will be calculated.

Entry to Kilo Sale:

This event will be FREE ENTRY. Payment will only be required for the items you wish to purchase. Any additional donations on the day would be appreciated and will go to our charity; however, this is not required.

Depending on how busy the sale is, you may be required to wait in a short queue so we can handle demand/numbers on the day. We will do our best to avoid any delays or queues.

Payment:

We can accept Card and Cash payments. All money raised at this event will go to West Sussex Mind.

More details available at including how you can donate clothing for this sale: https://www.westsussexmind.org/get-involved/fundraising/join-west-sussex-mind-for-our-first-ever-kilo-sale

We want to thank everyone who donates as this will help support us at this event and raise vital funds for Mental Health in West Sussex.

❌️MYTH: "Personality disorders are untreatable."

✅️FACT: Personality disorders can be managed and are treatable with the right support.

Many people think that personality disorders can't be treated, because personalities are fixed and personality traits are deeply ingrained, natural and part of us as individuals. This, along with the myth that people with personality disorders are simply being "difficult", can lead to a lack of empathy and care.

However, talking therapies, dialectical behaviour therapy (which teaches ways to manage emotions and behaviours) and other treatments have been shown to be effective over time, allowing people to significantly improve their ability to function and live well.

Today we pause to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust and in genocides since.

Holocaust Memorial Day invites us to reflect on the importance of empathy, humanity and standing up for one another.

This year's memorial day uses the theme of Bridging Generations to remind us that remembrance doesn't just stop with the survivors, but should live on in all of us. A timely reminder of the dangers of hatred and racism for these challenging times.

We support young people, aged 16-25.

Our youth workers offer one-to-one support, phone/video calls and group activities. They also do outreach work in local colleges and schools.

One-to-one support is currently open to 16 to 18 year olds with our specialist youth workers. If a young person is 19 to 25 years old, they may be seen by our adult teams for one-to-one support but can still access our groups and activities for young people.

After the festive season passes, many of us feel the impact of winter on our mood and energy. But for those living with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), the change in seasons can bring a profound and recurring struggle – persistent low mood, fatigue, loss of interest in daily activities, and even feelings of hopelessness.

While Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) itself is not always a direct cause of su***de, its symptoms can increase vulnerability. Our free, self-paced su***de prevention training can equip individuals with the skills to recognise when someone may be struggling, to listen without judgment, and to signpost them to the right support.

This winter, help us ensure that no one faces SAD or suicidal thoughts alone by exploring our training course, and learn how to support those around you whilst keeping yourself safe: https://www.westsussexmind.org/training-courses/su***de-prevention-training.
