❤️ Holly – opening the heart

There are times when emotions can feel intense like anger, jealousy, envy or even hatred. Feelings that are often directed towards others sometimes without fully understanding why. You might feel triggered, reactive, or closed off as though your heart has put up a layer of protection and hardened. Much like the leaves, the person can be prickly, spikey and sharp.

The Holly remedy is for these moments. It gently supports you in softening those strong emotions,
helping to bring a sense of calm and openness back in.

❤️ Holly is often known as the remedy of the heart encouraging compassion, understanding and a return to love rather than fear or hurt. It helps to release feelings like envy, suspicion or spite and allows space for more peace, connection and emotional balance.

Holly remedy is a gentle support when the heart feels closed, guarded or overwhelmed by strong emotion.

Did you know that only the female Holly plants produce bright red berries and only when a male plant is nearby for pollination.

✨ Star of Bethlehem - the comforter of all sorrow

There are times in life that leave a quiet imprint on the heart. A shock, a loss or a moment that felt too overwhelming to process at the time. Even long after, something within can still feel tender or stuck.

Star of Bethlehem is known as the comforter of all sorrow. It supports past grief and trauma and the after effects of shock from bad news or an unexpected event. It can also help with feelings of emptiness or loss especially after the passing of a loved one.

It is a deeply comforting remedy bringing calm and reassurance helping you to heal at your own pace.

A delicate, star shaped flower opening to the light. A gentle reminder that even after darkness, light can return 🤍

Did you know that Star of Bethlehem is one of the 5 essences in Rescue Remedy 🌸

🌿 Willow – when life feels unfair

It’s not always anger you feel sometimes it’s a quiet resentment. There are moments when life can feel heavy when things haven’t gone the way you hoped and it’s hard not to feel a sense of why me?

Like the weeping Willow there can be a feeling of poor me as though life has been unkind or that you’ve been treated unfairly. You might notice feelings of resentment, bitterness or being stuck in the past replaying what’s happened and wishing it had been different. On the outside, you may be carrying on but inside there can be a quiet heaviness that’s hard to shift.

🌸 The Willow remedy gently supports a shift in perspective. It helps soften those feelings of resentment and allows you to take back your power moving from blame to acceptance. Allowing you to feel lighter more accepting of what’s been and more open to what’s ahead.

🌳 About Willow
Willow trees are often found near water their long, graceful branches flowing and bending with the breeze. The image of the weeping willow reflects that emotional state - heavy, weighed down and turned inward. Yet even so the tree continues to grow and adapt, a quiet reminder that it’s possible to soften to release and to move forward in time.

☀️ Gorse – The Sunshine Remedy

Some days can feel a bit like the weather today grey, heavy, and flat. But sometimes that feeling runs deeper like you’ve quietly lost hope or started to believe things just won’t change. When you’ve tried maybe more than once and nothing seems to shift. it can leave you feeling stuck, drained and unsure what’s the point anymore. Gorse is known as the sunshine remedy for those moments when hope feels out of reach. It is one of my favourite remedies and is in bloom right now. Its bright, vibrant yellow flowers lighting up even the dullest days. There’s something about seeing it that naturally lifts your mood like little pockets of sunshine scattered across the landscape. Even on the greyest days it still flowers boldly almost as if it’s reminding us that light and hope are still there even when we can’t fully feel it.

Gorse gently works to bring a little light back in, not in a forced or overwhelming way but softly rebuilding a sense of hope, possibility and inner strength.

A reminder that things can change even if it doesn’t feel like it right now 💛

Olive is a wonderful remedy for physical and mental tiredness 🌸

Over the last few weeks, we have been tracking the stages of grief through the essences that can offer support.

Grief is a journey. Like all journeys it can be tiring. For some it brings exhaustion. Bone weary, deep exhaustion where the will to continue is barely there.

Olive is the essence for deep exhaustion that shows up after the shock has faded. Olive is one of the Seven Helpers. These essences focus on habituated patterns of response, where the Second 19 focus on in the moment support.

Olive is for those carrying their burden for too long but who are unsure how to put it down. This is not a temporary state from which someone has the ability to bounce back but the feeling that vitality is completely absent.

Nickie Murray describes Olive as the “great strengthener” that returns energy to the body.

Bach flower remedies don’t fight symptoms they work by restoring harmony within our emotional and energetic selves.

When our inner harmony is restored the body aligns with its own natural balance. Just like snow gently melts under the warmth of the sun, old fears, tensions and imbalances dissolve in the presence of emotional clarity and calm.

These remedies help us recognise and release patterns like fear, worry or overwhelm before they manifest as stress or tension in the body. They gently guide the mind and emotions back to a state of calm and alignment creating space for clarity, resilience and peace.

It’s a reminder that true healing often starts from within, with our Higher Nature guiding the process

Bach’s career and work evolved through some pretty tumultuous times. He lived through World War I, the Great Depression, a global flu pandemic and the rise of fascism.

He saw grief in his patients and observed its impact on their wellbeing.

Grief is a heavy emotion that creates many patterns as we learn to carry it and put it down.

One of the essences that is perhaps most useful in preventing grief from consuming our spirit is White Chestnut. This is the essence for swirling, returning thoughts that interfere with your peace of mind.

When thoughts go round and round, or you replay things over and over in your head, this is the essence to help you break the pattern. It perhaps comes at the turning point when you decide that you are ready to consider letting the weight of grief go and discover who you are when you do.

Some remedies that may offer support

🌸 Agrimony - often linked to those who keep things light on the surface using humour or distraction to avoid inner pain. There can be a restlessness or unease underneath and addictive behaviours may become a way to escape those feelings.

🌸 Cherry Plum - for times when emotions feel intense or overwhelming and there’s a fear of losing control. This remedy supports a sense of inner calm and trust, especially when urges feel strong or difficult to manage.

🌸 Walnut - helpful during periods of change particularly when someone is trying to break free from old habits or influences. It offers gentle protection and support when stepping into a new way of being.

🌸 Crab Apple - associated with feelings of shame, self criticism or not feeling good enough. It can support a kinder relationship with oneself and help release the need to feel cleansed or perfect.

🌸 Chestnut Bud - for those who notice they are repeating the same patterns or cycles even when they really want things to change. It encourages awareness and learning from past experiences supporting more conscious choices.

Bach flower remedies work gently alongside other forms of support helping to bring emotional balance and awareness over time.

If you or someone you know is struggling , please remember you don’t have to face it alone. Support is always available 🧡

NOTE - Bach flower remedies contain a small amount of alcohol as a preservative but the dosage taken is minimal. For those concerned or in recovery, remedies can be prepared in alternative ways.
