Wishing all the wonderful Mothers a very special Mothers Day 💐!

Thinking of those who's mother no longer resides on this earth, the mothers who hold their children in their hearts but not their arms, step-mothers, those who are working instead of celebrating with their loved ones, those who wish to be mothers and those who have a difficult relationship making today a difficult one 💜.

However you are spending your day, we hope the sun shines for you ☀️ and love surrounds you 🩷

Our new Directors visited some of our clients recently to introduce themselves following their acquisition of the Worthing branch.

John and Joju took time to listen to feedback about the service they have been receiving from our amazing Worthing Care Colleagues.

More visits are planned in the future, John and Joju are looking forward to putting more faces to names!

Dementia can affect memory, communication, and everyday thinking, which is why the way we communicate with someone living with dementia is so important. A thoughtful approach can help reduce confusion and build trust.

Here are some more supportive ways to communicate with someone living with dementia:

• Be patient and remain calm
• Give them some time to respond
• Encourage them to join in on conversations to boost confidence
• Avoid speaking in patronising tones when having conversations
• Acknowledge what they say – even if they don’t give you the answer you are looking for, this can reassure them
• Pat or hold their hand when speaking to them to reassure them

At Prestige Nursing & Care, we understand the challenges of dementia. That’s why we provide compassionate, tailored dementia care in the comfort of home, so your loved one can continue to enjoy familiar surroundings, routines and relationships.

💚 March is Brain Injury Awareness Month

Every March, communities come together to shine a light on the millions of people living with the lasting effects of brain injury. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and championing early intervention and research.

Brain injuries can happen to anyone — through accidents, falls, sports, illness, or violence — yet their impact can last a lifetime.
Increased understanding leads to better support, less stigma, and more resources for recovery.

💚 Prestige Nursing & Care proudly specialise in Brain Injury
Support, including support for individuals living with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), complex neurological care and spinal injuries. Our teams work alongside multidisciplinary professionals to provide tailored, high‑quality care for children and adults, helping them live safely and independently at home.

💬 How you can help this month:

👍Share information to raise awareness
👍Support local and national brain injury organisations / care providers
👍Check in on someone you know who may be struggling
👍Advocate for accessibility and compassionate care

Let’s work together to make sure no one faces a brain injury alone.

Eating well is one of the most important ways to maintain health and energy. It doesn’t have to be complicated – especially for older adults who may live alone or have limited mobility.

Today’s easy recipe is baked sweet potato with cottage cheese - in just 3 easy steps!

What you will need to make this simple but delicious meal:

• Sweet potatoes
• Cottage cheese or Greek yoghurt
• Chives, parsley, and paprika

How to make it:

• Bake sweet potatoes in the oven until soft (or microwave for 5-10 mins for a faster option!)
• Slice open and fill with cottage cheese or Greek yoghurt
• Top with chopped chives, parsley, or a sprinkle of paprika for extra flavour

Why this recipe is great, especially for older adults:

• Rich in vitamin A for eye health and immune support
• Cottage cheese adds protein and calcium for strength and bone health
• Minimal preparation required!
