On Sunday 13th July it was great to welcome 11 children to Wheely Wonders. One family hadn’t been for a few years and for another, it was their first time. Old friends were reunited and new ones were made.
There was lots of fun in the morning with Richard and Sam at Woodland Wonders Forest School and children enjoyed the hammock and bug hunting as well as woodcrafts.
After lunch at Lizzie's Craft Club we created our own drums, shakers and other instruments using old cocoa tins, decorating them with coloured paper, pens and stickers.
A very special event was drumming with Adam Gellibrand – it was wonderful to see all the children being able to participate and overcome worries about the noise level.
The day rounded up with a tug of war initiated by the children and feeding the lambs their bottles!
A huge THANK YOU to our brilliant volunteers and to everyone who came. Looking forward to seeing more families tomorrow!
This year Wheely Wonders days are made possible thanks to players and we waved our flags to say THANK YOU!

Looks a great day for families!

We had another sunny day for Wheely Wonders on Sunday 1st June. It was so great to welcome 14 children with parents and carers – there were two new families and some children we hadn’t seen since last year.
Everyone enjoyed spending time with the animals; Rosie and Bedroom Slippers the chickens were very popular and the children and volunteers were very happy to be able to carry them both.
During the morning with Woodland Wonders Forest School children made bubble wands with elder wood as well as the usual bug hunting and fun in the swing and hammock. Firelighting and toasting marshmallows was great fun too.
After lunch at Lizzie's Craft Club the children there was a very calm atmosphere while the children created their own pictures using stickers, pencils and pens before decorating their frames. An array of suncatchers were coloured in and everyone was so proud of their work!
Stomp rockets whizzed through the sky, big bubbles floated away and the bells were ringing with Chris North 'Freedom Through Fun'. We all loved the magic show and finished with some great parachute games – children invented new ideas and created a magical story with all the balls “raining” at the end.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered for the day and to families for coming. Looking forward to seeing more families next time! Our next event is on Sunday 13th July - if you would like to join us please use this link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1410412484709?aff=oddtdtcreator

On Sunday 11th May it was great to have 10 children and parents to Wheely Wonders as well as new volunteers.
The goats, donkeys and sheep were so pleased to see all the children!
There was time for fun in the hammock and nest swing along with some bug hunting, as well as planting sunflower seeds, sawing wooden discs creating and elder wood dolls with Woodland Wonders Forest School. Back on the field everyone enjoyed toasted marshmallows before lunch.
At Lizzie's Craft Club we decorated keyrings and turned plain flowerpots into colourful ones with magazine pictures and stickers. We hope the sunflowers will grow tall in the pots!
There was lots of free play with Chris North 'Freedom Through Fun''s bubbles, instruments, puppets, parachute and dancing before finishing the day with lots of the children assisting with the magic show!
Huge thanks to our helpers and all the families who came. We love seeing the children growing – both in height and confidence!
