πŸ”₯ What Burnout Can Look Like

Burnout is more than just feeling tired. It is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion that can build up over time, especially when we are under prolonged stress without space to rest or recover.

Burnout does not always look obvious. Sometimes it shows up in quiet or hidden ways, such as

🐝 Little to no motivation
πŸŒ™ Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
πŸ’— Feeling emotionally overwhelmed
🌿 Increased anxiety or worry
⏳ Constant exhaustion even after rest
⚑ Becoming easily triggered or reactive

At MindKey Therapy we often work with individuals who are experiencing burnout without even realising it. You may feel like you are meant to keep going or push through, but your body and mind are asking you to slow down and care for yourself.

Therapy can provide a safe space to explore what is contributing to your burnout and help you reconnect with balance, rest and healthier boundaries.

You do not have to reach breaking point before asking for help.

🧠 Who Attends Therapy?

Therapy is not just for people in crisis. It is a space for growth, healing and self-discovery. People attend therapy for many different reasons, all equally valid and important.

You might come to therapy because you are:

🌱 Trying to understand yourself better
πŸŒ€ Experiencing symptoms of anxiety, low mood or trauma
🎯 Wanting support to achieve personal goals
πŸ’¬ Needing someone to really listen
πŸ’ž Hoping to build more meaningful relationships
🌊 Processing difficult or significant life events

At MindKey Therapy every client is unique and so is their reason for seeking support. Whether you are working through past experiences, struggling with the present or preparing for the future, therapy can help you feel more in control and connected to who you are.

You do not need to wait until things feel unbearable. Therapy is for anyone who wants to feel better, think more clearly or live with more purpose and ease.

What is NET (Narrative Exposure Therapy)?

NET is a relatively new form of therapy that has been developed to help people who have experienced trauma. It is based on the idea that talking about your experiences can help you to process them and move on.

What is 1-2-1 Therapy?
1-2-1 therapy, also known as individual therapy, is a private, structured form of psychological support. It provides a safe, confidential space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with a trained therapist.

Unlike group therapy, 1-2-1 therapy is entirely tailored to your specific needs and goals. This approach is effective for:

βœ” Anxiety disorders (Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder)
βœ” Depression and low mood
βœ” PTSD and trauma-related distress
βœ” OCD, phobias, and health anxiety
βœ” Low self-esteem and confidence issues

Many people with OCD struggle with unwanted thoughts and compulsive behaviours. Therapy can help you manage and reduce these symptoms, giving you tools to cope more effectively. Understanding how therapy works is key to finding relief from the challenges of this disorder.

Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective treatments for OCD. It helps you identify and change the thought patterns that fuel your anxiety. This type of therapy offers support as you work through your feelings and develop healthier coping strategies.

At MindKey Therapy, our goal is to provide you with a safe space to explore your experiences.

πŸ”Ί What Is the CBT Triangle?

The CBT Triangle is a simple but powerful tool used in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help us understand the connection between our thoughts, feelings and actions.

At MindKey Therapy we often introduce this model early in the therapy process to help clients make sense of how their inner world affects their day-to-day life.

Here is how it works

Thoughts – what we think
Feelings – what we feel emotionally and physically
Actions – what we do in response

Each part of the triangle influences the others. For example

🧠 Thought: "No one likes me"
πŸ’¬ Feeling: Sad and withdrawn
🚢 Action: Staying in bed and avoiding people

This creates a cycle that can repeat and reinforce itself. Over time this cycle can lead to low mood, anxiety and unhelpful habits. The good news is that changing just one part of the triangle can begin to shift the whole experience.

In therapy we explore which part of the triangle is causing the most distress and begin to work with it gently and effectively. This might involve challenging negative thoughts, changing behavioural patterns or learning to regulate strong emotions.

Understanding the CBT Triangle helps you notice your patterns and regain a sense of control over how you think, feel and respond.

If you would like to explore how CBT can support you with anxiety, depression or emotional distress, I would be happy to help.
