Familiarisation Videos Making the unfamiliar more familiar. We create detailed tour videos to help reduce anxiety & help you overcome barriers when going to new places.

A Familiarisation Video is a detailed tour video of a venue or public space that will help unlock the world and make it more accessible to everyone. Familiarisation Videos can help reduce anxiety and help people overcome any barriers they may experience when accessing somewhere new or unfamiliar. Although this initiative is targeted at people with disabilities or impairments, hidden illness, menta

l health conditions or neurological conditions; it can actually be used for many different things such as planning where to go on holiday, planning a wedding, preparing for a job interview or planning the office Christmas party. The video would walk through the venue showing all aspects and features from the car park or drop off point, showing terrain, doorways, distance, accessible facilities, sensory input. The Familiarisation Video could be found by searching our online database with many filter options, allowing you to tailor a search to your specific requirements and location. Why is this needed? Many people avoid going places, socialising, engaging with society because they fear the unknown and are concerned that an outing may result in disappointment, embarrassment or distress. A simple video can make a big difference to thousands of people’s lives, unlocking the outside world forever. How can you help? This is the most difficult thing I have done by far!

Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we have decided to cease trading as Familiarisation Videos.

We are so passionate about making the world a more accessible place for everyone, but unfortunately, accessibility is not everybody’s priority. Those who understand the need for Familiarisation Videos are great supporters, but unfortunately, these tend to be third-sector organisations with very little funds to spare.

We have tried raising funds to sustain FV but have been unsuccessful. Karen has poured everything she can into the organisation, hoping things will improve to no avail.
What will this mean for the videos we have already created?
Nothing! All of the videos will still be available on our Familiarisation Videos YouTube channel, the venue's website, and their social media.

However, we will not be creating any new videos.
Karen will continue to offer advice on accessibility if required.

We live in the hope that when the world is ready for Familiarisation Videos, we will be back.

So, hopefully, this isn’t goodbye forever!

We had a fantastic time at the Wrexham Business & Community Awards networking event followed by a day at the races. It's fair to say we had a wonderful time.
