I lit my candle at 8pm for the campaign for Holocaust Memorial Day, and I will leave it burning for one hour in memory of all those who lost their lives during the Holocaust 81 years ago today.

These are some of the photos from our trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau a few years ago. It was one of the most heartbreaking tours to do, but very educational. If you haven’t had the chance to go, we highly recommend that you do.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, a day to remember the six million Jewish men, women, and children who were murdered during the Holocaust, and also to honour the survivors of the horrific events that took place. Today, the 27th January, marks the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. We have been to both of these camps, and we must say that it is a very sombre place to be.

At 8pm (GMT) tonight, we will be joining others by lighting a candle for the campaign, which is a moment to stand against hate and discrimination.

Our Direct Cremation Package now includes so much more than before. Just because somebody doesn’t have much money, or just because your family member has decided on a no fuss final farewell, doesn’t mean that those left behind should get nothing in return.

A Direct Cremation is meant to be the absolute basic, but we don’t agree with that. Everybody should be looked after the same way, be able to be dressed in their own clothes should they wish to be, be able to be visited by their loved ones in the chapel of rest whenever, be taken to the Crematorium in a Hearse and NOT a Private Ambulance, and the family should be allowed to have keepsakes should they wish to.

A Direct Cremation SHOULD NOT mean basic.

We found Caroline's Viennese Patisserie back in November and have been there every week since, sometimes several times a week. The sandwiches and cakes are absolutely delicious 😋 and we highly recommend that you try them. With them being hidden away at the top of Wrexham Central Arcade, many people may not know that they are there, but once you find them, you will probably visit again.

Just before Christmas, we had the honour of conducting a funeral service at Memoria Flintshire Memorial Park & Crematorium in Northop. Whilst there, we took these photos of their beautiful grounds. It may be smaller than Pentrebychan Crematorium here in Wrexham, but inside the chapel and all of outside is absolutely stunning and so modern. It is just so tranquil when you walk around their grounds.
