♦️ ♦️ PRESCRIPTION COLLECTION ♦️♦️

If you have recieved a text message, please pop in to collect your prescription as we are running out of space and it’s taking longer to locate prescriptions on collection, which in turn extends waiting time.

Uncollected prescriptions left in pharmacy for longer than 3 weeks will be sent back to GP and patients will need to re order.

If we do not have your number, please pop in with your mobile number and then we can text you when your prescription is ready.

Prescriptions can take 7-10 days to be ready from the day of ordering, so please wait for your text before coming to collect.

UPDATE 9.20am - We now have a pharmacist!

❄️ ❄️ STAFF SHORTAGE ❄️ ❄️

Please be aware we already have 2 members of staff unable to get to work today due to the snow. We’re due to have a locum pharmacist today but we do not know how far they have to travel and if they’ll be delayed due to the snow.

Please wait for another post confirming if the pharmacist has arrived, and only travel to the pharmacy if absolutely necessary. We will try and answer the phone as much as possible but please be patient if it isn’t answered straight away.

🔹 Sore Throat Test And Treat Service 🔹

Please phone us for an appointment if you think you have these symptoms….

What are symptoms of strep throat?

Common symptoms may include:
• Fever.
• Pain when swallowing.
• Sore throat that started very quickly and may look red.
• Red and swollen tonsils.
• White patches or streaks of pus on the tonsils.
• Tiny, red spots on the roof of the mouth, called petechiae.
• Swollen lymph nodes in the front of the neck.

Our pharmacist will determine what type of illness you have by asking about symptoms and doing a physical exam. If they think you might have strep throat, they will swab your throat to test.

A rapid strep test involves swabbing the throat and running a test on the swab. The test quickly shows if group A strep bacteria are likely causing the illness.

Antibiotics are used for treatment.

If needed our pharmacist will provide antibiotics to:

Decrease how long someone is sick
Decrease symptoms
Prevent the bacteria from spreading to others
Prevent serious complications like rheumatic fever.
