Dying Matters Week 2026

Too often, end of life conversations are avoided, leaving individuals and families without the information or confidence they need during difficult times. Improving understanding around palliative and end of life care helps ensure people’s wishes are respected and they receive the right support.

Deaf Awareness Week runs 4th–10th May 2026, with the theme “Right to understand – Together, we break barriers.”

This week highlights the importance of removing communication barriers for people with hearing loss and celebrating Deaf culture.

Too often, deaf and hard of hearing people still face challenges such as limited access to interpretation, captioning, and everyday communication support, leading to barriers in work, services, and social connection.

We all have a role to play in creating an inclusive society where communication is accessible to everyone.

At Altriss, we deliver a highly recommended Disability Awareness training course that covers a wide range of impairments, including hearing loss. Our training is designed to raise awareness and equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to better support people within their communities.
