Sinusitis can cause uncomfortable symptoms such as facial pain or pressure, a blocked or runny nose, headaches and reduced sense of smell. While many cases improve on their own, treatments like pain relief, nasal sprays, steam inhalation and self-care can help ease symptoms, and medical advice may be needed if symptoms last longer or worsen. Knowing the signs and treatment options can help you manage sinusitis more effectively and understand when to seek help. 🤧💧🩺✨

Slimming World Programme Changes and Tier 2 Weight Management Options.

As we look ahead to the new year, many people choose this time to reflect and consider making healthy lifestyle changes, particularly around weight management.

Norfolk County Council Public Health offers a free Tier 2 weight management service, available through Slimming World or Your Health Norfolk. Patients can self-refer directly via the following link:
https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/42290

Please be aware that Slimming World is introducing some significant programme changes from January 2026. This includes the removal of the term “Syns”, which will be replaced with “healthy fats options”. The terminology “Body Image” and “Body Magic” will also be updated.

You can find out more about these changes here:
https://www.slimmingworld.co.uk/press/slimming-world-to-introduce-healthy-fats-option-and-replace-syns-in-new-year-refresh

Slimming World, the UK and Ireland’s leading weight-management organisation, will replace the term ‘Syns’ from January 2026 as part of a refresh of its language. Slimming World will also introduce a new category within its plan for healthy fats like avocado, nuts and olive oil.

You can get oral contraception and emergency contraception directly from participating pharmacies, without needing a prescription or GP appointment. This makes accessing contraception quicker and more convenient, helping you stay in control of your s*xual health. Trained pharmacy teams can offer confidential advice and support to help you choose the right option for you. 💊🩺

Emergency contraception can stop you getting pregnant after unprotected s*x (s*x without contraception or when contraception might have failed). If you need emergency contraception after having unprotected s*x, speak to your local pharmacist as soon as you can. You need to use emergency contraception within 3 to 5 days of having unprotected s*x. ✨

Healthwatch Norfolk: Please help us by completing a survey!

Healthwatch Norfolk, in partnership with Norfolk County Council’s Public Health teams, is seeking local views on two areas of wellbeing: NHS Health Checks and stop smoking services.

NHS Health Checks are free for residents aged 40–74 and help identify risks of conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Feedback is welcome whether you’ve had a check, are eligible soon, or haven’t booked yet.

Current and former smokers (that have smoked in the last 10 years) are invited to share experiences with quitting, relapse, or support services to help people stop smoking.

Two short, anonymous surveys (about 10 minutes each) are available here:
