I have an awful habit… and honestly, it’s my clients’ fault.

They keep turning up with neck, back and shoulder pain… and apparently expect me to do something about it.

So I treat the problem, and the worst part is I keep sending them away feeling better.

But I don’t just work on the tight muscles. I also give people tools to manage it themselves: simple mobility exercises, posture adjustments, recovery tips, and ways to stop the tension building again.

Which means something interesting happens.

After around 3-4 treatments, many clients don’t need to see me as regularly anymore.

Good for them.
Bad for my MAFS catch-ups.

Because the goal was never to have people relying on massage forever. The goal is to help people understand their body, reduce their pain, and manage it long-term.

Of course, life, work and stress usually bring people back through the door eventually, but ideally with a body that feels much better than when they first walked in.

Basically 1 hour of me talking to myself šŸ˜…

If you could hear my brain during a massage, it would sound a bit like this…
20 tabs open. Half of them buffering. One playing music. One reminding me I forgot to reply to a text three days ago.

Chaotic minds are noisy

But weirdly, massage quiets it.

Whether I’m giving a massage or receiving one, it does the same thing to my brain

My thoughts are still racing, but my body is still. I can focus. It’s almost like a pause button. I’m present with the thoughts, but I can’t act on them… so they just pass through.

It’s actually quite meditative…

And I’ve noticed the same thing with clients who come in. The yappers. The ones who talk the whole way through the consultation. Sometimes even when they first get on the couch.

Then the massage starts… especially a scalp massage… and suddenly the brain clicks into that safe, calm mode.

Silence.

They’re in the flow too.
