Have you had a recent medication review? If you take regular medication it is important that you have a review as advised by your GP Practice or hospital specialist. This might include blood tests, height, weight and BP readings.

Having a regular review means that the clinician can check your medication is effective and that you're not experiencing any side effects.

We are recruiting for an experienced pharmacy technician looking to join a dynamic, forward thinking primary care network with an established team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

This role will be focused on working with practice and PCN teams to promote safe and effective prescribing and medicines management.

Full time or part time hours available. This role will involve liaising with Primary and Secondary Care services.

Key duties will include:
- Management of DMARD monitoring for patients
- Shared are medication
- DOACS monmtioring
- Medicines reconciliation
- Liaising with Primary & Secondary Care
- Responding to Safety Alerts
- Medication reviews
- Audits, guidance and prescribing reports
- Respond to medication queries from patients and carers including consultations
- Provide medicines guidance and support to the primary care team and community staff

*We're Hiring! - PCN Paramedic Role*

Sowe Valley Primary Care Network is recruiting for an experienced paramedic looking to develop their skills working alongside our established multi-disciplinary team.

Part-time / job share available with roles from 24 hours per week available with working hours over 8 or 10 hour working days.

Currently, we have eight experienced paramedics working across our PCN Locality and would like to expand the team further.

This exciting role includes the opportunity to enrol (subject to eligibility) on fully funded independent prescribing and ACP MSc courses with support and mentorship from experienced GPs in our member practices and a dedicated medical director.

Winter illnesses are on the rise, especially after many social gatherings over the Christmas period.

Common Winter Illnesses:
- Colds & Flu: General upper respiratory symptoms, with flu often more severe.
- COVID-19: Symptoms vary, seek NHS advice on home care.
- RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus): Causes cold-like symptoms, but can be serious for babies and older adults.
- Norovirus: Highly contagious stomach bug causing vomiting and diarrhoea.
- Sore Throat: Often viral, with self-care advice available.
- Fever: High temperature in adults and children, with specific NHS guidance.

Key NHS Advice (Stay Well):
- Self-Care: Rest, fluids, over-the-counter remedies for mild symptoms.
- Hygiene: Wash hands frequently to stop germs spreading.
- Know When to Get Help: Use NHS 111, Pharmacy or GP services for worsening or severe symptoms.
- Protect Others: Stay home if you're sick to avoid spreading bugs like flu and norovirus.
