Prepping workshop for our upcoming menopause retreat with . There’s so much for say about how we can support our bodies as we enter into our ‘second spring’ of life. I love referring to perimenopause power. Such a wonderful book for all things hormones. I’ll be talking about the fascinating theory of Five Element Acupuncture and how we can use ancient knowledge in our modern lives. Hopefully we’ll also have time to try some cupping to promote lymph drainage and encourage circulation 👌

What is Moxibustion? Moxibustion is an essential part of Chinese medicine which takes its name from moxa, a natural substance prepared from mugwort leaves.
Moxa can be held just above the skin, placed on top of an acupuncture needle or directly on the skin, usually over specific acupuncture points or meridians. The herb is then lit and as it slowly smoulders, heat permeates the skin and affects the flow of ‘qi’ (energy) and blood in the area being treated.
Needle moxa (as shown in this photo) is a perfect way of treating MSK (musculoskeletal) conditions such as lower back pain, sciatica and knee pain. The warmth of the moxa permeates into the needle and patients report a deep warmth and release in the affected area. It’s a personal fave of mine, especially when I can watch the beautiful smoke spiral upwards.

My name is Annie from Elements Acupuncture with Annie Griffiths and I am a fully qualified, traditional acupuncturist working from a quiet and relaxing clinic in Wymondham, Norfolk based at Wymondham Chiropractic Clinic. I work on Friday's and Saturday's.

I am a graduate from The Acupuncture Academy and was awarded a distinction for my Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three year degree qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. I was also Commended for my clinical work.

My training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, with a focus on the five element approach. This means that I will consider your main health problem, together with a holistic approach to you as an individual.
