***LAST CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO YARM HIGH STREET***

🗣️ There's still time to share your views on whether the Council should progress with the proposed improvements to Yarm High Street.

🚧 The proposed regeneration scheme, as part of the £20m Levelling Up Fund (LUF) allocation for Yarm and Eaglescliffe, would create new public spaces for people to sit and enjoy their surroundings across six areas of the High Street.

🏛️ The plans aim to separate pedestrian areas from sections of car parking through seating, greenery and planting and improve accessibility to public transport. The scheme would also include new cycle parking, play on the way features for children and families and references to Yarm's history and heritage.

🗳️ You can have your say until Monday 12 January 2026.

🔗 View the scheme and complete the online form: www.stockton.gov.uk/yarm/high-street

📝 Paper copies are also available in Yarm Library which you can fill in during the library's opening hours.

📅 Following the engagement period, responses will be summarised and considered at a future Cabinet meeting.

We see so many patients, young and old, with sleep issues.
This is one of the first things we suggest doing.
Charging your phone in another room means you’re not tempted to check it through the night too.
Give it a try. 👍🏻

We are sharing these numbers again, Councils are housing people 👏 no-one should be sleeping outside in this weather.
We had a council member offer to come to our hub earlier this week to offer accommodation to a couple who thought it would be a waste of time to contact them. We’ve never had this before and after seeing them street homeless at 4.30am in the morning went the extra mile to do something about it, great work👏

🚫 Missed Appointments – Please Help Us Help You
Every week, our GP surgery loses many appointments because patients are unable to attend and don’t let us know.

💬 Why does this matter? When an appointment is missed:
❌Another patient who needs care cannot be seen
❌Clinicians’ time is wasted
❌Waiting times become longer for everyone

📲 Can’t attend? Please tell us:
✔️ Cancel by phone - call our dedicated phone line to cancel
✔️ Cancel online or via the NHS App
✔️ Reply to your text reminder that you receive 24 hours in advance of your appointment

Walk like a penguin to reduce the chances of slips and falls on the ice this Winter! 🐧

Walk like a penguin to reduce the chances of slips and falls on the ice this Winter! 🐧

Cold winter weather can make it slippery or icy under-foot.

These cold snaps can mean more slips, trips and fall injuries coming into our hospitals.

Walk like a penguin! 🐧

If you need to head out when snow and ice are forecast, try the penguin technique:

✅ Lean forward so your weight rests on your front leg
✅ Take short, flat steps
✅ Avoid heavy bags that shift your balance

It’s a simple way to reduce your risk of injury on icy surfaces. Better still, avoid icy paths altogether if you can.
