Lifesaving bleed kits are being rolled out to communities across North Yorkshire.

Bleed kits are specialised first‑aid equipment which give immediate access to vital equipment that can control catastrophic bleeding before the arrival of the emergency services.

The installed bleed kits have been logged on a national register, known as the Bleed Map.

What a pleasure it was to recently deliver the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course to the team @ Wainstones Hotel in Great Broughton. Another beautiful location taking the extra step to ensure their customers and staff are well looked after. Thanks for a great couple of days!

The Bleed Kit Awareness is gaining momentum. Very pleased that the awareness of the vital pieces of equipment in these kits are starting to be made more public!

A first aid trainer aims to get more kits used to tackle serious wounds installed across the county.

Every five years the Resuscitation Council publishes new guidance in line with the European Resuscitation Council and other international organisations.

These guidelines align training with scientific research and clinical outcomes to formulate best practice and the best approach to saving lives.

There are important updates just released on topics including:

- Adult, child and infant CPR and AED pad placement
- Anaphylactic shock
- Hypoglycaemia
- Choking

Hands on Heart Training will start introducing these updates into our training immediately.
