Right, so you've probably seen me wafting smoke about like I'm starring in my own little ritualistic drama, but there is a method to the madness.
In this little reel, I've got my loose incense burner on the go with The Projects Cacao Cleanse (smells phenomenal btw). But let's chat about why we're always cleansing stuff…
In our events, sound healing sessions, and yoga, we use things like sage, palo santo, or cacao cleanse blends to shift the energy. Think of it like hitting the reset button on a room. It's about clearing out any stagnant, heaviness so we can create a fresh, cosy, and intentional space to land in. Whether that's for an event, yoga flow, or just having a brew without feeling like the emotional leftovers from the week are still hanging about.
There's actually a beautiful principle in yogic philosophy called saucha, which translates to purity or cleanliness. It's not just about physical hygiene, but clearing the energy of our spaces, our minds, and our surroundings to make room for clarity and ease. So really, every time I light up some sage or palo santo, I'm just having a little saucha moment😌👌
And it's not just for the studio. Oh no. I cleanse my crystals and instruments regularly because they soak up so much energy. I also do it when I actually get round to cleaning the house too. You know the routine, hoover, dust, then a good old smoke cleanse to finish. It just makes the place feel properly reset. Like, the physical clean is done, and now the energy clean is too. Everyone in the house knows the routine and gets a complimentary wafting too😉
So whether it's for a group session, your favourite crystal, or just because you've finally tackled that pile of washing, cleansing is just a little ritual to say, fresh space, fresh energy, let's go.
