PINS is a national initiative helping primary schools to better support neurodivergent children. We’re currently working with 10 primary schools across South Glos.

Having heard from parent carers, school staff and children in each of the participating schools, it’s time for a check in. Come along to find out what support has been tailored for your school and what changes you can expect over the next six months.

Join the conversation about how we can make SEND support even better.

Does your child struggle with loud noises, itchy tags in their clothing? Perhaps you have a thrill seeker who's always running, jumping and looking for more adventure.
All these can be clues to help you understand how your child is processing the information from the world around them.
In this workshop we will:
🟡Explore what sensory processing is and how sensory differences may affect your child?
🟡Learn about the 8 senses (yes 8!)
🟡Share strategies and ideas to help support your child's sensory differences

This 3-hour session is for families with children aged 0 - 25 and will be delivered ONLINE via Zoom. The main workshop and presentation will be around 2 hours long and will be recorded. There will be plenty of time at the end for further discussion around the subject. This will not be recorded.
Your child doesn't need a diagnosis for you to attend.

The workshop will be delivered by Corrina from Platypus Training, who has a wealth of personal and professional experience of neurodiversity and a masters in Autism. She has worked as a Family Services Manager for over 15 years and has developed services for families, children and young people. Corrina has extensive experience of working with families where there are children with autism and ADHD.

Join us on November 5th at 10am. To book your spot, please click the link in the comments below.

You have until October 31 to complete the survey, with the chance to win a £20 gift voucher for participating.

There is often a lot of confusion for families as their children reach 18 and they move to adult services.

Check out these handy guides.

A disabled child receiving social care support in England will move into adult services when they turn 18.

But what *should* happen during the transition period?

Here are the basics — but our website has more information and advice on your family's rights, legal changes, pay structures and responsibility over decisions:

We are so pleased to see that the outdoor garden area at our community base has had an overhaul by the council's Streetcare team and we have also had a tidy up and planted up some spring flowering bulbs to look forward to. We also have plans to put in more sensory features like fragrant herbs and some hanging mobiles to catch the sunlight.

Drop-in Support is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, pop along for a chat with our support team as we catch the autumn sun.

🟡Discuss how anxiety may affect you and your child.
🟡Share strategies and ideas to help support you and your child.
