BRINGING personal training back into my work feels so right

I toyed with this for a long time because Yoga elicits ‘quietude, deep wisdom and a personal connection’ that can only happen through practice

But, there is a turning point when the body asks for support, especially for posture (āsāna). So, I became my own envoy and returned to the weights room

No matter how long Yoga has served your physical body, there will be a time where muscle and bones will fail. The ONLY solution is resistance training

Weight training doesn’t have to be boring! It is:

* Functional
* Age friendly
* Personal
* Mindful
* Complimentary to Yoga
* Posture changing
* Confidence building

The Yin and the Yang energy system can comfortably handle the task of building both strength and vitality that enhances your Yoga practice!

LETS face it.... the shadows try to sabotage our plans, our observations and even our attention. One minute you are on track; the next you are derailed

Why?
Well first we have to encourage the unconscious mind to come forward and ask:
~ What is sticky
~ What is eluding you?

We have to get into a clear temple and not masquerade in a slippery chameleon form

The witness mind gives us access to benevolent compassion

In this next discussion we discuss the signs of the dominant inner critic and what triggers our defensiveness

If nothing changes, nothing changes

TEAM YORKSHIRE….

Filming for the final part of personal training [re -entry] and what a day

This is by far the best ‘redecision’

Why?

- Because I get to help people with understanding form, technique and skills that will support āsāna (posture) in their yoga sessions

- Because so many knowledgeable people understand how the physical body is made to ‘feel’ movement beyond just A-Z action

- Because the people who live strength know the dedication and discipline necessary to achieve a great relationship with their bodies and their mind

- Because what fuels and functions the physical body is respecting it’s territory and, knowing that if you don’t know how to feed it, form it and find harmony within it then you don’t deserve it 🤍✨

This lass has been trying to figure this life thing for years..

What I have learned though is :

- Parenting is a regressive process [ kids teach us]
- Body strength will supersede aging
- Wisdom will bypass those who don’t question
- You have to MOVE yourself
- Experience is the absolute key to success
- Mistakes are normal
- Anxiety is normal
- Clarity and consistency will move you forward
- There is always a playlist that has been written by someone who knows you

Some are really really gifted and live there... and others have to dig deep to find it. As we explore the Sacral (sacred) Cakra we really find what we buried

Personally, I believe everyone has creative minds and it takes enormous effort and courage to find it...

WORKING with energy….

It’s a constant. Finding that subtle channel [Nadi] that doesn’t separate us from masculinity or femininity

Personally I have to remind myself to stay soft, gentle and kind. Whether you are training tough or working through stuff; the feminine energy will wait

This week we unpack the first of the feminine energy centres [6+1] along the Sushumna Nadi (the energetic channel along the spinuous path)

As we breathe into the month of September and feel the baptism of early Autumn 🍂 touch our senses, we
appreciate letting go...

Change is the circular process that we live and helps us to understand the relevance of impermanence

On line learning continues via Zoom as we go deeper into the subtle realm of the Çakras. I will be IRL teaching at the beautiful new Yoga studio,[FireandBliss] in Tavistock, West Devon, as well as continuing my revision studies of personal training

There is a vision behind all of it, where wellness, coaching and learning come together and where I can be of service to you more!

EXCEEDING MY COMFORT ZONE…

Means sharing about personal growth!
Being raised in a culture that values hard work yet being 'careful' about sharing what has been part of that growth has always kept me privately motivated

HERE ARE A FEW FUN FACTS (some might make you giggle)

- I managed and ran a gym that had me teaching 18 classes of Step, circuits, weights and body conditioning
- I was a NE middleweight bodybuilding champ, Yorkshire middleweight champ and 4th place in British bodybuilding as a Junior
- I competed in Triathlon for 6 years and following many races (placing 1-3) managed to snag Leeds 1st elite in British Triathlon
- I was a personal trainer (with over 80 clients at my busiest)
- I weaned from hard core training to Yoga via hot (Bikram) practice
- My first Yoga class was 2007
- My first Yoga qualification was 2016
- My second Yoga qualification was 2020
- I wrote poems and poetry during my high school years before picking up my pen again in 2020. I have now authored 5 books
- I became a mum at 30 and 37. This was my biggest learning and continues to teach me how to be 🫶🏼🙏🏼

I believe teaching is bringing both lived experiences and ongoing willingness to lean into students' spaces by how they learn

Experience is everything and helps to foster a wide lens of understanding as everyone is unique. Yoga addresses that, whether it is for sport, strength, mindset or simple withdrawal
