🌻 REAL MEMBER REVIEW 🌻

I honestly can’t thank Shelley enough.

After our conversation in group last night, I wanted to put into words exactly what Slimming World and the group have meant for me.

I have never done anything like this before and I was hugely sceptical about it working for me. I normally have the breaking strain of a Kit Kat and my worst enemy is me… oh and food!

You know the scenario:

Me: “I want a packet of crisps.”
Me: “No you don’t.”
Me: “Yes I do, and who do you think you are to tell me what I can and can’t eat?”
Me: “Oh go on then…”

And so it went on!

Food was my comfort but also my enemy. I would eat things I knew would make me feel bad and kid myself I was balancing my diet because I had a salad that week.

We’d got to the point where we were eating takeaway two or three times a week and I was drinking at least two cans of coke a day. I felt disgusting and trapped.

Just before Christmas something clicked in my head. I had to do something. My GP put me in touch with a Health Coach who referred me to Slimming World.

Walking into group for the first time felt like walking into a new school! Everyone looked at me and I just wanted to turn around and leave… but I made myself stay – thank goodness I did!

Someone told me that night to use the app because it would be my best friend… and they were right. I log everything I eat, I scan my way around supermarkets and even my partner hands me things to scan and puts them back if they’re too much! (That’s a miracle I tell you!)

Another massive thing for me has been staying to group. It takes away that feeling that you’re battling this on your own. If I wobble, they’re my safety net. If I don’t understand something, I can ask. And the support when you’re doing well is amazing – not to mention seeing other members’ hard work paying off.

I know my 12-week programme is coming to an end, but I am nowhere near finishing my journey and I will definitely be staying with Shelley and the group…

So sorry guys, you’re stuck with me now! 😅

And I’ve got more certificates now than I did when I was at school!

Top tips on how to make Food Optimising more fruity:

🍓 Add berries or bananas to your breakfast, with yogurt, cereal or even French toast.

🍍 Ice lollies! Homemade fruit lollies are the most refreshing way to get fruity, I’ve included a link below for inspiration.

🍊 Salad: pomegranate seeds, apple, orange slices bring a flavour sensation you won’t know you needed!
