Nici Fulton - Pregnancy, Birth & Postnatal support

Nici Fulton - Pregnancy, Birth & Postnatal support Here to support and signpost you through pregnancy, birth & beyond In 2023 I made the very difficult decision to hang up my Daisy hat. Much love, Nici

In 2016 I began my journey qualifying as a Perinatal Educator & later as a birth & postnatal doula. For 7 years I had the absolute pleasure of running a variety of pregnancy and postnatal courses and classes with The Daisy Foundation, supporting hundreds of local families in pregnancy, through birth & their journeys into parenthood. As a single Mum of 3 & post pandemic, the battle of head over hea

rt had finally succumb & I have moved into a PAYE job (still supporting families) for more financial security. I have every intention of returning to my love of Perinatal care one day. For now, I wish to continue to be here to support any families who would like my advice. I will be here, contactable through this page if you ever need a chat, need signposting or have any questions at all. This is no longer a business, so there are no charges.

What a beautiful surprise ๐Ÿ’ž
I thought I was popping out for a coffee with the gorgeous Katherine and Owain my first ever Daisy family...little did I know there was a lovely gathering of Daisy Mummies and not so little daisy babies ๐Ÿ˜ญโค๏ธ

The most amazing, thoughtful gifts...a precious book of messages I will treasure forever and a donation of a Phoebe's gift box too

It should be me gifting you all for allowing me to be so involved in your precious journeys and supporting my business over the past 7 years...thank you all from the bottom of my heart ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œMy very first Daisy baby to my last๐Ÿ’œ

After 7 years of the most amazing journey, my role as a Perinatal Educator is coming to a 'Pause'. It has been an incredibly tough decision and one that has taken me many months, but the time is right, for now, to move on to pastures new.

To be a part of a family's world during a pregnancy, the birth & as they step into parenthood, has got to be one of the biggest privileges a person can experience. I would like to thank everyone who chose me, chose The amazing Daisy Foundation, as their support, education platform & community...you all hold a very special place in my heart.

From my very first course and the birth of my first Daisy baby, a beautiful family who are still special friends, to my last venture and the HUGE pleasure of supporting amazing friends from my drag-racing community (my other passion) what a way to finish my Daisy days. Every single baby and family that have come in-between mean the world to me.

I forever hold our angel Daisy babies in my heart, Phoebe, Isabella, Robin & Lucus...never forgotten...thank you for changing me as a person, teaching me many lessons that will stay with me forever.

I am not stepping away completely, I couldn't possibly delete this page and all the memories it holds, so I am hanging about and I will always be here to offer support and guidance to anyone throughout their pregnancy, birth & postnatal journey. So, if you ever need a chat and signposting to the right support, just ping me a message.

Lastly, I can't thank Team Daisy enough....in my humble opinion, the BEST perinatal care out there! I hope one day there is a space for me to return...Sian and the team truly are the best ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you everyone, and if you've got as far as this without scrolling on...cheers ๐Ÿ˜† much love to you all.

Nici xx

Good morning ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love this time of the day...my kiddos are of an age now where I can actually enjoy a hot cup of coffee in silence in the morning...just don't talk to me about the evenings ๐Ÿ˜†

Anyway, what a summer it has been, still is, although I can now feel the tiny signs of those autumn days creeping in when I sit outside with said coffee at 6.30am ๐Ÿ‚

I have missed all those Daisy babies and Mums while I've been busy doing that parenting malarkey myself ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I would LOVE to see what you've been up to...please share some summer snaps if you have any (I mean we all know you have 3 million๐Ÿ˜†) Share away ๐Ÿ’ž

Proud Mummy moment โค๏ธ
After just turning 19 my eldest has reached one of his biggest life dreams of playing professional cricket for his home County.
What a week it's been, 3 matches, 4 wickets, a catch and a run out...some good batting to boot.
The only thing more special than your child living their dream, is being their Mum and watching it unfold ๐Ÿ˜

The weather is getting warmer, which can make following safer sleep advice more complicated. It is harder to keep baby cool and holidays and travel can disrupt routines. We have put together some tips on baby summer safety so you can enjoy the summer and keep baby safe when the weather gets hot.

It's predicted to get very hot over the next few days โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒก Here are some top tips during a heat wave when pregnant:

โ˜€๏ธ Avoid the heat. Stay out of the sun during the day particularly during heat wave conditions.
โ˜€๏ธ Keep hydrated! Keep a small re-usable water bottle with you at all times and keep this refilled.
โ˜€๏ธ Shut windows and pull down the shades when it is hotter outside. You can open the windows for ventilation when it is cooler.
โ˜€๏ธ Dress to keep cool. Wear loose, light clothing, and a hat and sunglasses if you go outdoors. Cotton is cooler.
โ˜€๏ธ Stay in the shade and avoid sunbathing. Pregnant women may find their skin more sensitive to the sun during hot weather. If you do need to be in the sun, high factor sunscreen is important.
โ˜€๏ธ Have lukewarm showers and baths. Cold showers/baths can cause your body to retain heat.
โ˜€๏ธ Manage hot flushes. Carry a small spray with you to cool you down, or use a fan.
โ˜€๏ธ Siesta. Sleep more and take a nap in the afternoon in a cool room
โ˜€๏ธ Reduce salt intake. This will help to combat water retention
โ˜€๏ธ BBQ safely. BBQโ€™s are popular in the summer but food can spoil if left out too long in the sun. Avoid the risk of unnecessary stomach upsets.
โ˜€๏ธ Monitor heatwave advice. Listen to heatwave alerts on the radio, TV and social media about keeping cool.
โ˜€๏ธ Avoid swollen feet. Minimise time spent standing, wear comfortable shoes, put your feet up regularly and do a few foot exercises to reduce swelling and cramp in your calf muscles. The following NHS website gives tips for swollen feet and lets you know when to seek help: https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/related-conditions/common-symptoms/swollen-ankles-feet-and-fingers/.

We will also be sharing some tips for babies in hot weather in a separate post: https://www.facebook.com/LeedsEMidwife/posts/pfbid02me2KM144vzet6zNQCnp72PAXxQ7TKnRDfYDDc2YQDjNvZCBaJ267cY6FXpfwiJkgl.

Our story: supporting & educating through pregnancy & beyond

Nici currently runs a variety of Antenatal & postnatal/baby classes. All classes run with small group numbers in a very relaxed, fun & supportive way ,where you will feel very much included, the content can be flexible to suit individual needs as we progress through & you will get to know each other, gaining peer support as well as a continuity of care from Nici right through to your child reaching 2 years if you so wish.

The classes & workshops currently running are: Daisy Parent, Daisy Birthing, the Active Birth workshop and Daisy baby classes. To understand more about them both, see details below...and watch this space for Daisy Mama coming in 2019.

Daisy Parent: Our unique all-inclusive parent preparation course focuses on both birth preparation and practical baby care โ€“ combining antenatal and active birth education with movement, breath work, relaxation and birth hypnosis. Practical baby care demonstrations are delivered alongside un-biased education on parenting choices, safety and baby calming techniques, allowing you to feel prepared not only for birth but for the arrival and care of baby too.

Your course will cover a combination of:
