Breakfast with Professionals at Potter House Care Home

On Monday we were thrilled to welcome:

🚑 Alex from YFW Blood Bikes, 🚕 Cori Taxis, 🏫 Joanna Greathead, Headteacher at Reckleford Infant School and🧵 Tara Goddard from Fabric Sewn Beautiful

Everyone enjoyed fresh pastries and bacon sandwiches whille taking time to network, share ideas, and talk about the amazing work they do for our local community, and how they continue to support us and our residents too 🤝🌟

Today at Potter House we had a wonderful visit from Pets As Therapy! A lovely volunteer and their beautiful therapy dog spent time with our residents.

It was such a joy to see the positive impact that animal therapy can have — from sparking conversations.

Thank you to Pets as Therapy for the heart-warming experience and for supporting wellbeing and companionship in our home. We hope to welcome you both back again soon!

✨ Wishing Jess all the very best! ✨
Today marks Jess’ last day at Potter House, as she steps into her new role as Regional Trainer within Crystal Care Collection – a huge congratulations from all of us!

Jess has been part of the journey from the very beginning, joining the original team when Potter House opened in April 2025. Over the months, she has loved getting to know our residents and staff as the home has grown, and we are incredibly grateful for all the support, care and dedication she has given in her role as Front of House Manager. 💙

As Jess hands the reins over to Chloe, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for everything she has done for Potter House. You’ll be truly missed here day to day, but thankfully not far away!

In Jess’s own words:
"It feels like the end of an era! I have loved every single second as Front of House Manager at Potter House. I am really going to miss all of our wonderful residents, and the team here! I'll be coming back to the home to complete staff training, and I can't wait to see how the home grows."

What a fantastic start to the New Year it’s been here at Potter House! 🎉

Our residents have been busy enjoying a wonderful mix of activities, including:

•A trip out to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton ✈️
•A visit from Zoo Lab, learning all about animals, reptiles, and insects 🐍🦎🦔
•A sing-along session with Malcolm Gregory, always a hit with our residents 🎶
•A very lively game of bingo, full of laughter and friendly competition 🎉

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been focusing on staff training, making sure our team are up to date and continuing to provide the very best care and support.

We’ve also been delighted to welcome a couple of new residents to the Potter House family 💙

And there’s much more planned for the rest of January — there’s never a dull moment at Potter House!

Yesterday Chloe and Jess popped down to the Discharge Lounge at Yeovil District Hospital to introduce Chloe as our new Front of House Manager, and to drop off some little goodies for the team 🎁

As Chloe will now be the one speaking to the team on the phones, she wanted to come along in person to say hello and put some faces to names. We were welcomed so warmly by Dot and the wonderful volunteer Janet – it was such a pleasure to meet you both.

A huge thank you to Dot, Janet, and the whole team for all your hard work and everything you do to support patients and staff every day. It really doesn’t go unnoticed 💙👏

Looking forward to working more closely together!

✨ Meet Our New Front of House Manager – Chloe! ✨

We’re delighted to welcome Chloe to the team as our new Front of House Manager! Chloe joins us from a background in primary school teaching, bringing with her a wealth of experience in communication, organisation, and caring for others – skills that translate perfectly into the care sector.

Over the coming weeks, Jess will be working closely with Chloe during a handover period, ensuring a smooth transition and sharing everything Front of House. Jess will then be moving into her exciting new role within Crystal Care Collection as Regional Trainer for the South West – a huge congratulations to her! 🎉
