Gorgeous trip out on the water at Langport on The Duchess. Looked after by a warm friendly group of volunteers and lovingly rescued by the local community after suffering significant damage recently.
What a lovely way to spend the morning!

Such a positive story, we love sailing the Duchess, we've enjoyed two trips in her this year, and are very grateful that the Langport community have looked after her so well!

🌿 Welcome to Home From Home 🌿

Hi, we’re Josephine and Veronika! We run small, friendly group outings for adults with a range of support needs, giving you the chance to enjoy the countryside, stretch your legs, and spend time in nature.

Our days run 9:15am–3:15pm, with plenty of time to explore, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Guests bring their own lunch and a little extra for refreshments.

We welcome anyone who can walk confidently and enjoy companionship. Some guests love chatting, others prefer a quieter pace—we make space for everyone.

Here's a few words about who we are..

HOME FROM HOME
At Home from Home, we offer person centered care for people with learning disabilities. We help to enrich people's lives in a variety of ways. We provide opportunities where people can meet their social, leisure or educational needs.
Who we are?
Veronika
I have worked in social care since 2005 and initially started working with the elderly in a residential care home in Yeovil. After 6 years I changed my career path to supporting adults with learning disabilities. I was employed by Lifeways, Mencap/Cambian Lufton College and Discovery. Then I became self-employed as support staff in Frog cottage daycare for almost 2 years. Where I also met Josephine.

How did we get here?
Jo and I we both loved our supporting roles in Frog cottage daycare. All our adventures we had with our clients, the impact the clients had on our lives. Then suddenly an opportunity arose, and we decided to set up our own day care service for adults with learning disabilities Home from home.

Our goals
To create a safe environment where everyone feels welcome and comfortable
To support everyone to make their own choices, voice their own opinions and aspirations
To encourage to learn new skills, be creative, develop new opportunities and have fun
To encourage friendships and social interaction
To access community
To support making healthy lifestyle choices
